So it has been going on since Monday and I think we deserve some answers after this many days since the pinned thread has not a single update.
Any tracking manually entered or entered through a third party shipping service is only showing Pre-Transit. I am currently up to over 75 now.
This is effecting star seller status. Will this be addressed?
Do I have to contact Etsy support and give every single one of the over 75 order numbers to get this fixed or will the fix when it is implemented update all the tracking numbers?
It won't be long until my customers start to contact me asking what is going on with their packages and it's not a good look for my shop, or Etsy
I have over 70 orders and chat told me they were told not to fix tracking info while the issue was being investigated
I chatted with 2 different people on Etsy on Friday because my shipping rate kept dropping every day. It showed I had 13 orders with no tracking but it is there. I ship all orders with tracking and the techs could see it. Told me it was a glitch and they would work on it and post it in the forums. Still only showing 92% on shipping after going up to 94% for a day.
Guess I'll wait and see what happens but frustrating we all have to deal with all these glitches & not be working on listings or product.

At her suggestion, I contacted chat again, but via the help menu this time, rather than the chat bubble (through the dashboard, community & help > etsy help > contact support > selling on etsy > shipping > shipping a buyer's order > scroll down & click 'I still need help'). This time it was a completely different experience. The agent manually updated the status of the whole list I gave her - no excuses, no mention that I needed to wait for engineering, etc. It took quite a while, but all are now the correct status, and I can breathe a bit easier without all those pre-transits hanging over my head.
I may have to give that a try, but gathering the info for 70 plus orders is going to be VERY time consuming. I shouldn't have to do this!
@PrettyVagrant, I downloaded my star seller shipping CSV; copied the order #s with the missing tracking ('no' in the last column) to a list; then copied/pasted this list into the chat.
That’s the route I’ve been through 3 times and can’t get help.
@TraceyGurleyArt, I'll admit I had low expectations going into it, based on past interactions with chat.
One thing I've learned since I first opened a ticket on this back in Sep, when it started happening to me (albeit at a lower rate) was to NEVER mention star seller. Just tell them shipping status is incorrectly showing as pre-transit, and needs to be manually fixed. If they think your issue involves star seller, their script seems to immediately direct them to tell you they can't help.

Only thing I noticed is my orders shipped on Saturday all actually show in transit. Yay!
BUT ...... I still have over 70 past orders still showing pre transit and a star seller rate of 87%. BOO!
I do have a random few that have updated to delivered, so there is no rhyme or reason.
Etsy, you say star seller won't be affected, but it still currently is. What can we do on our end to get these past tracking numbers fixed????
I just noticed my SS status is in jeopardy because of no tracking number recorded for an order that was delivered. I did buy my label from PS. Also, did anyone else recently have to re-integrate both of my Etsy shops on PS? I believe this happened after I did it.

Well, something new today!
I used Etsy labels for some of my shipments. All of them on USPS site show not trackable, so it doesn't even have the information that a label was even printed yet. Normally it immediately shows that a label was created! I watched my postal carrier scan them as he picked them up.
I just now completed some labels with PS and on USPS site it shows the label was created immediately after printing it.
I'm currently at 50+ orders showing pre-transit since March 1st. Shipping star now down to 88% and is continuing it's downward spiral every day.
Those stating chat or Etsy fixed this issue for them...seems they are no longer doing that. I'm on with chat right now and they will only tell me they are going to forward my list of order numbers and add it to their report for the investigation team. Only reassuring me that the engineering partners are aware of it. So I have no idea when or if this will get fixed.
This isn't a Pirateship issue. Pirateship integration is sending the correct tracking information to Etsy properly and Etsy is moving orders to completed order status properly. After that is the issue - with no USPS tracking updating on Etsy. Everything is staying in the pre-transit delivery status.
Edited to add: I accessed chat through the community/help - contact us - as someone said above, but it still didn't help.
Assuming this is happening to a number of sellers, and assuming said sellers have been unsuccessful in getting things righted, the number of SSP sellers is bound to plummet. Maybe when they lose all their "stars" they will take the need to fix things seriously.
Assuming the SSP was implemented to ENcourage sellers, it will be worth zero if their stats are not accurate. In that case it will be totally DIScouraging.
I just got off chat for 4 items.. this girl said she had to escalate my issue to engineers who were looking into it. Said the engineers will correct my acct and email me. I still have my SSP but am down under the accepted % at 94 now. Help did say that they don't have a time frame when it will be corrected yet. and they are prioritizing issues based on the impact to the sellers. Maybe my 4 pre transits are low on the board compared to those with 20+.
Last week I did chat and they corrected it on the spot.. this girl could not do that even tho she was looking at the Info from USPS. That shows all shipments delivered.
So I wait.... ( oh and how you shipped or where you got your tracking number from is not the issue)

Did you use the chat box through your dashboard? If so, try the other chat.
I did chat on my dashboard.. will try the other one tomorrow.
You would think they could fix this-- for me it has been going on since Sept. but it usually rights itself in a day or 2.. but not this month.
An update: I've tried both chat avenues.
The chat through the help section is able to correct things.
I did not have the same experience with the star seller chat -- they sent my issue to the engineering team.

but let’s see about the ones that shipped today. Lol. They are now in pre- transit.
and USPS says “not trackable- delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site” even tho I have a paper receipt from USPS Today.
so we will see.
Just when I thought perhaps things had improved for me ... 13 of 14 orders shipped yesterday are stuck in pre-transit; all are actually in transit. Some even show the acceptance scan within Etsy (although they don't show subsequent scans, which do show in USPS), but still say pre-transit. There's no apparent reason that one order from yesterday correctly shows in transit, other than the fact that Etsy's interface to shipping status is still broken.
My problem has gotten worse as well. I guess the fix didn't really fix anything...
@studioGpatterns, according to @ampersay 's Friday post, 'Our engineers pushed a fix recently to prevent new orders with valid USPS tracking from getting stuck in 'pre-transit' when there's tracking activity accessible.'
Clearly this is not true.
@BlackSheepDyeworks @Agreed, not true. I have to laugh….that quote from Etsy certainly clears things up (not so much). It’s just more verbal tap dancing that gives Etsy wiggle room. “When there’s tracking activity accessible”. That’s the whole problem….Etsy isn’t accessing - or is not able to access - the tracking activity. It’s available, just not to Etsy. *insert eyeroll*.
It took about 24hrs to update, but my orders using PS and Etsy labels all updated to in transit. I do have some 6 that got stuck with some PS bug that caused a non trackable notice on USPS site, but they since started moving and showing scans on USPS, but still show pre transit on Etsy. ALL my past delivered orders still show pre transit with my star seller still at 87% due to no fault of my own. This is a known issue and they need to just put everyone that they know has the issue back to 100% until these past orders are fixed. Still no idea on if they even will get fixed either since communication is severely lacking. I did see one admin chime in on a couple peoples posts that had a few orders affected, and seemed to fix their issues, but the majority of us are getting no help
Everything I've shipped since the beginning of the month is *still* stuck at Pre-Transit, including the packages I shipped yesterday. My percentage is now down to 77%. Yippee.

Same here @WhirligigEmporium, everything we have shipped this month shows as pre-transit. Our percentage is down to 93%. It would be worse if we had more sales this month but is still low enough to cost us the star seller rating if Etsy doesn't fix whatever is messed up in their programming. The star seller metrics is saying we shipped without tracking even though each order shows a tracking number and has them as pre-transit even though packages are inroute or have already delivered.
