So it has been going on since Monday and I think we deserve some answers after this many days since the pinned thread has not a single update.
Any tracking manually entered or entered through a third party shipping service is only showing Pre-Transit. I am currently up to over 75 now.
This is effecting star seller status. Will this be addressed?
Do I have to contact Etsy support and give every single one of the over 75 order numbers to get this fixed or will the fix when it is implemented update all the tracking numbers?
It won't be long until my customers start to contact me asking what is going on with their packages and it's not a good look for my shop, or Etsy
@SimplyInvitingLLC Since it's only the 9th, I'll give Etsy the chance to fix it themselves. Hopefully, they will.
If not, I will wait until later this month and see how many show screwed up. Right now, I only have 1.
I spoke to support yesterday and they said it would 100% affect your Star Seller. This to me is crazy and soooo unprofessional as it is 100% an etsy issue and should NOT be a seller problem.
I always have 100% shipping for SS and as of yesterday it was at 90%....
Etsy support fixed my pre-transit issue very quickly this morning. I used the chat feature and gave the order # and they reset the order to delivered as was shown with the USPS tracking number.
I contacted Etsy support and they said that they know about the issue and they are working on other issues that affect the marketplace as a whole. No updates to the Pre-transit status on my order after the contact. My shipping score is falling like a rock. I consider this an unfair competition practiced by Etsy. My sales are also falling and I think the reason is my decreasing rating due to items not being shipped according to Etsy.
I have tried chat twice and they are clueless! I now have 27 orders showing pre-transit
Is there a secret to chat when I get there that I may not be aware of?
They did not offer to manually change anything for our shop. I gave all affected order numbers in the chat and they would only log a ticket. I've had no resolution - day 3 - and now another package does not show tracking. They need to suspend the Star Seller until this is fixed.
mine were fixed and now they are back to affecting my ss again.
@bradgoodell they still haven't fixed the problem. This will kick tons of people out of the ss program due to no fault of their own.
If Etsy can't fix stuff like this (2 weeks now!!!!) they should temporary freeze all stats. This is irresponsible of them.
On the other hand, maybe losing the ss will get us sales??? haha.
I'm not listing or relisting anymore so it doesn't matter to me while I think about what to do about my Etsy shop but I feel for all those it matters too.
Does Etsy even have "engineers"? They can not resolve a tech issue like this in 2 weeks? Why???
I was told I have to contact all 30 customers and they have to verify that they did receive what I sent out. Then I can contact etsy back with the account numbers. This is a process I do not have time to deal with and who wants their etsy seller bugging them with hello - did you get your item?
I was told I have to contact all 30 customers and they have to verify that they did receive what I sent out.
This is just getting better and better.
I know that a couple of sellers who use Etsy labels have reported it has happened to them as well, but by and large it seems to be affecting those who do not use them.
Which, me being me, makes me wonder if this is their "nudge" to get the non-Etsy-label users to switch over. If so, it's a very passive-aggressive move AND I DON'T LIKE IT!
I don't think it's intentional, I think it's a glitch. I mean based on all of our shops tanking lately they're obviously making changes to the website and this is what happens. The motto "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" has never ever crossed a single mind there and this is why we're all suffering.
I don't think it's intentional, I think it's a glitch.
The problem with that is they simply can't be trusted to not do such a thing.
Everything that happens here is designed to bring in more money for Etsy. How they achieve this, whether with above-board moves or shady practices, it's all aimed at this one goal.
I don't trust corporations; they never, ever have my best interests at heart.
@SimplyInvitingLLC A seller last night announced one of Etsy's new features.
If someone leaves bad feedback without a note, you can now set it to cancel all future sales to that buyer. Not exactly a "block" but close.
Not exactly what anyone has asked for either.
It is definitely hitting Etsy labels as well. All of mine were processed in Etsy, scanned at the post office counter, some showing delivered through the USPS sight but all still showing pre-transit in Etsy.
Thank you for this update; I was wondering if someone who uses them might add their info.
I have 2 still showing pre-transit.
I use labels.
One is from March 1 and one is from March 3.
They have both been delivered and one has even received feedback already.
It's reassuring to read that they are an equal opportunity screwer-upper; I would hate to see only certain group targeted. ; )
Thanks for your update!
I only use the Etsy labels and it is across the board an issue for me with letter tracking, which is provided by Pitney Bowes (they provide the letter sorting/scanning machines to USPS and provide that tracking data to Etsy). It's so frustrating and 100% a problem that Etsy (allowing this as a service provided by them) needs to take responsibility for even if it's on PB's end. It happened before for months on end back when Etsy first offered the letter tracking service. If they would be more transparent rather than evasive with where along the chain the issue is coming up and how long it should take to fix it would go a long way to build trust and confidence.
Yes, Etsy says they are working on this. For me personally, I have three orders that remain in pre-transit status on Etsy that have all been delivered according to USPS, and confirmed by buyers. Orders placed before these three (on two different days) and orders placed after are all tracking properly on Etsy. (I use Etsy labels.)
And yes, I did use Chat. Still waiting three days later on the email saying the glitch has been fixed, though some other sellers have reported theirs were fixed quickly.
While you were in chat they didn't fix it while you were on with them? They definitely should have!
When I was talking with Support yesterday they did say it could take up to 48 hours to update. If it has been 48 hours and they are not updated I would contact them again.
I have reported twice, still no fix, so today I went into chat again. I had to list each pre-transit order number to get them fixed. I also had to verify my account. Go on chat, list all the order numbers then request it to be fixed.
Finally fixed and will check daily for continued issues.
@PrettyVagrant did you download your Star Seller order history, shipping/tracking info to determine if pre-transit is affecting your star seller status? As long as you have a tracking number, did not ship late and are not missing processing time your star seller should not be affected by pre-transit. I currently have 20 pre-transits from last month and SS has not been affected. If a customer inquires just send them their tracking number in a message. They can paste it in Google and it will take them to USPS for the details. I haven't had anyone inquire. Hopefully the glitch will be fixed sooner than later.
@SugarTaffySoap as most things etsy related shops are affected differently. Prior to talking with Support yesterday I had over 150 orders showing pre-transit and my star seller shipping which is usually 100% was showing 90%. Support updated most of the pre-transit orders and now my star seller is at 98%. Support also confirmed that this will 100% affect your star seller if it is not manually corrected by support.
@SugarTaffySoap for my part I have input valid tracking number, did not ship late (very early in fact) and had processing times in place and yet the downloaded star seller order history csv shows '---' in the tracking field and 'no' in the tracked on time column... very annoying
