I have to go through all the steps to adjust the thumbnail image between 3-5 times for the adjusted image to actually stick and show up on my listing. Is anyone else having problems with this and if so has anyone found a solution? This seems like a bug that Etsy should have worked out by now as it's been happening for almost two weeks.
Also, I add listings with my phone and edit them on my desktop if it matters.... thanks in advance.
Bumping you. And no, I personally haven't had any issues, just did some yesterday (desktop).
Same here. Occasionally it works as intended, but typically I have to edit it 3 to 5 times, just as you say, because the image will jump out of alignment when I hit publish, and display incorrectly. I am uploading vertical shots and this issue has been happening for a couple of weeks. I suspect if I uploaded square shots it might be better but... we SHOULD be able to upload a portrait shot and reposition the thumbnail to show the part we want it to show. It is very annoying.
It is dreadful.
It jumps around with a mind of its own when trying to position the thumbnail area, and then it fails to save.
It is not fit for purpose.

I would do everything BEFORE you upload, don't use etsy for anything more than you need to - for anything
Ive seen many people with the same dialemma, myself included, which has been ongoing for a loooooong time. Find it hard to beleive that this has not been resolved yet by Etsy. Literally almost every listing, sometimes once, somtimes more than a handful of time and it seems completely random too. Frustrates the hell out of me and has even been a reason I have stopped listing in the past.
I'm not 100% sure, but something that worked for me was to wait a couple of seconds before each new step or click. After adjusting the thumbnail, I waited 5 seconds, then clicked 'Done.' I waited another 5 seconds before clicking 'Apply,' and again before publishing the changes. My theory is that our actions require some uploading time, which isn't visually indicated.
I just tried and doesn't work for me. I still have this unprofessional looking listing photo that has already been like this for days.
i am beyond frustrated with this. I have had this issue for months. Makes me not want to add listings. It would be nice if Etsy would respond with a fix.
I just made my image square, and then upload. No adjustment required and it is showing the way exactly I wanted it to.
