Account temporarily suspended because taxpayer information is missing or cannot be verified

So my account is temporarily suspended because taxpayer information is missing or cannot be verified. I did not have my taxpayer information entered, so I did that 2 days ago. I am an individual, so all I need to do is verify my name is correct, SSN is entered correctly and uploaded an image of my drivers license. 

After entering, I get a message...

We are currently checking your Taxpayer info

Please check back in an hour. We will message you once there's an update.

It has been 48 hours without an update. I can't process orders. I can't receive payment. I can't get help to resolve. Very frustrating. I am referring customers to redirect business thru Venmo and Etsy is losing money. 

Any help on how to resolve this. I feel Etsy is really shooting themselves in the foot by not offering support to the sellers to resolve this. I market elsewhere and direct my customers to Etsy for the transaction for the simplicity of processing the orders. Time for me to rethink this.

There are a lot of us posting the same.  It's been since the 8th for me.   If you do a search of Tax ID... you'll see we're all having the same problem and no help.   Some shops have been suspended longer than mine..

I see lots of people with the same issue and Etsy customer support for this is non-existent.

Going on my 28th day suspended, support stopped responding 12 days ago..

Unbelievable..   Just so hard to believe we're going through this and none of us have  had any support..

They seem to only respond to shareholders, not buyers or sellers.  Josh won't hire more humans, thinking he can get away with Etsy being run and policed by bots to retain the profit margin.  

My only suggestion is, if you are doing any verification/sign up/changing financial info, is remember to turn off a VPN if you are using one. Etsy harvests tech metrics from your device/connection.

I am experiencing the exact issue…like you all, I’m so discouraged and frustrated. My account has been suspended for 3 days now. I was told that there is a problem for a lot of accounts with this same issue, and they could not give me a timeframe for resolution. Please continue to post here if you receive updates and/or your account is back up. Thank you!

It's been 2 weeks today that my shop has also been "temporarily suspended ", despite providing updated Taxpayer info. The Customer Service is terrible! If this is a technical issue that they are aware of, why isn't it fixed yet? I am ready to close shop!

2 weeks and 1 or 2 days for me.. but my shop is open now.  I hope yours is too now..

Over 2 weeks for me since I updated the tax ID and uploaded my driver's license as well with the suspension not being removed.  I have not violated any Etsy policies and have had my shop since 2015. 

Technical support: Please reinstate not only me but the many others who have not had their suspensions lifted asap.

Account is no longer suspended. However, I have already cancelled all of my sales and directed them to other platforms. Then I set up a store in Square.

Today marks 3 weeks of temporary suspension after submitting my tax ID and driver's license twice.  Am a total loss about what to do. Some others have been unsuspended who were in our situation. I have tried e mails with them at support@etsy.com, the zendesk e mail, and a phone call back with an actual person offshore somewhere.  I am still suspended!  I have not violated any policies. I didn't even have $500.00 in sales in 2022, so no 1099x was even needed.  Any suggestions for me at this point?

Ohhh Shoot.. I thought for sure you'd be unsuspended as well!!  Ughhh.. I really feel terrible..   I know there's nothing I can do.  We were in this same mess together.. just know I'm thinking of you and seriously hoping for a quick resolution.   

This whole thing is just disheartening.

I don't know what happened, but I got my shop back after about 10 days. Of course I had already refunded all my orders and contacted how to purchase the items outside of Etsy from me. Extra work on my part, but was able to eliminate Etsy from making money from me, so that was a plus.

I followed all of the steps necessary, verified my account and wasn't aware there was an issue until someone purchased something and received a message that the sale could not be processed and their payment refunded. I have been told I need to have my full name on file now with some instructions on how to do it. My first and last name are on the account but I thought maybe they want my middle name too. I have another shop that has been up and running for a long time with successful sales transactions and the registered info is exactly the same so I am not sure what the problem is. Anyway, I followed the directions provided to update my name and when I go to addresses as I was told to do, updating my name isn't an available option. This is an exercise in frustration.

I'm in the same boat...my account was temporarily suspended on Wed, April 26th in regards to tax information. I uploaded all the information that they were requesting on that same day and its still closed. I keep sending emails to them twice a day now, because I heard you need to buy the hell out of them to get anywhere, but I keep getting the same answer that "their engineering partners are currently aware of an issue where the update your taxpayer info alert is showing to some sellers with that information already on file and that they don't have a timeframe of when it will be fixed." I just don't understand its so frustrating! I am also looking at different sites to sell on, does anyone have any recommendations. I was only selling on Etsy for 2 months before this happened so not quite sure which direction to go now.

It's May 30th and this just happened to me three days ago. I submitted my info   How long is the wait to be reinstated?
