Account suspended again

Man this is so annoying. I started another shop and it got suspended immediately before I had listed any items. Caught in the bot net I guess. So I filed a ticket, and it magically got turned back on a few days later. No emails at all from Etsy. Now I've been adding draft items to the new shop, but nothing is live yet. I was planning on doing a bunch and adding them at the same time but my shop got suspended AGAIN. Again no email.

So frustrating. Why etsy. Why.

Does anyone know the correct number of listings to make at the same time to not trigger the bots? I was going to launch with 25 items which i've been slowly adding to drafts the last week but apparently that's TOO MANY.

Can’t say.  But don’t use “onesie” since it is trademarked.   Use bodysuit instead.

@RusticBucketsSouth

Agree about onsie. Got a notice from the company when I first started. Had 24 hours to remove that word in tags, description, titles etc.

Re: Account suspended again

Were you trying to list similar items in the new shop to those in the shop you are posting from?  If so, this may be the issue.  You can't list the same of similar items in two separate shops.  Since the shop you are posting from is POD mugs and tees, if you try to list mugs and tees in the second shop that might trigger the policy bot.

Re: Account suspended again

No it's a completely different shop. I think I just triggered the bot by adding too many things at once. I planned out my shop ahead of time and did all the copy/images so I've been doing the listing names and descriptions first, then going back later and doing all the images. They didn't like that haha.

Re: Account suspended again

The number of listings has no relevance to your shop suspension - not quite sure where you got that idea from.

It could be due to the content of your listings (potential IP infringements or prohibited items) , your ID, your bank details, your payment card. Content of listings includes all words AND images (and words in images). Did you use any props which contain identifiable brand logos or names?

Check your emails in case Etsy sent an email and you missed it (Check junk mail folders too). Check your dashboard for notifications. Check your inactive listing folder in the listing manager page - are there listings which say 'deactivated by Etsy'?

Have you had any other shops on Etsy before which were permanently suspended due to policy violations?

Re: Account suspended again

@Amaradorn

Over the years I've seen some reports from sellers whose shop was suspended due to adding a massive amount of live listings extremely quickly.  Often the seller was copy/pasting so the listings were going live faster than "standard". Apparently the concern by Etsy is a duplicate shop, listing mass produced items or a bot so I imagine "excessive" drafts could trigger the same suspension.

That said, I'd definitely first look over keywords to be sure none were responsible.

@Spellbinderie Oh wow! that's crazy. Thanks for the info. Next they'll be telling us not to make too many sales a day! oh, hang on that already happens [facepalm].

Since nothing is live yet (apparently), I suspect it's more likely something to do with identity docs etc. Or just a mistake.

Re: Account suspended again

My items were not an issue - I check copyright trademark searches for anything non-generic. Bank details are fine, payment is fine. I create my own mockups with nothing else in them. There is nothing in my junk mail.

You can't check your listings when your account is suspended. But nothing was live. Everything is still a draft.

No my shop is in good standing. Never even had a case opened against me.

I can definitely see being flagged for suspected copy/pasting because I was adding the images to all my listings at the same time. I had set them up last week and just uploading images one after the other. I can see that being suspicious to bots. I didn't even think of that being an issue. Just how I need to get things done right now with a toddler at home interrupting me every 10 min haha.

Betreff: Account suspended again

@Floofsupply

"adding too many things at once."

It's never been recommended.

One item a day is.

Why?

Each new item gets a boost in the search.

So adding new items slowly obviously extends this boost over a longer period of time.

Well it's one thing to recommend listing one item per day for better results, another thing entirely to be SUSPENDED for listing too many things in a day.

If a shop can be suspended for uploading "too many" listings / images at once, Etsy should give a warning.

Re: Account suspended again

Have you made sure to reference and link your second shop in your main account/shop?

Re: Account suspended again

Yes! I had already done the shop description, put in my second shop, even did a GDPR compliant privacy policy. I think I just triggered the bots by adding stuff too quick, I had all my listings done, I was just adding all the photos.

Re: Account suspended again

I think I read in the forums that each shop needs to verify the bank account through Plaid separately. Have you completed that process?

Re: Account suspended again

Yup! And I used the same bank account as my other shop so shouldn’t be an issue. They also already charged me the .20 for that first listing you make when you sign up so I know my cc is good too.

Re: Account suspended again

@Floofsupply  have you requested a callback from etsy through your shop manager dashboard? > Community & Help > Contact Us . We are sellers in the forums and have no idea why your shop got suspended.
