(First time this has happened, and it's OK now) *Same desktop computer, Chrome, Windows 10.
Scared the you know what out of me. After Signing In, white window with Etsy Logo, "Acess Denied".
I closed out of my browser and tried again. The Sign In changed from what I normally see to a larger format Sign In Form (which I've seen before). I closed out, did a Hard Refresh (Ctrl +F5), and a different Sign In Sheet (smaller this time) came up. I Signed In on that and was in.
Good grief, Etsy must be doing something in the background. I clear cache/cookies every night. Have no idea why this happened.
Anyone else?
(There was not an accurate Label to choose for this Thread).
I've had the same thing but it eventually corrects itself.
Check your security settings & run a virus check just to be sure you’re safe from hackers!
Actually that's not unusual. Your computer and ISP (not Etsy) hiccuped. All I have to do is close out and redo. That usually solves the issue. And it's usually not a virus issue or malware. It's just computers and ISP talking. Though eventually you will have to upgrade to 11 as support ends for 10 which means it will be vulnerable for malware.
@ChillwolfArt If that were so there would be many screaming. Most likely it is Windows 10 and Chrome. Chrome has made changes to how things can be done on the browser. Check to see if your security has been set to high or not set correctly.
Rereading your post that does sound like a Chrome and Windows 10 issue.
I have no problems with Edge.
I had the "access denied" once, not long ago, and you're not kidding! It scared the heck out of me. Good thing it was in the morning, and I got in pretty quickly, or I wouldn't have slept well that night! Mine is on Chrome too. I've also gotten different forms of sign in pages once in a while. Ugh, just let me go to my shop without a hassle, will you please?

NanaLetha and TBQSC, Thank You both. It certainly gave me a jolt, never having seen this before. I have had the CAPTCHA every now and then upon Sign In (usually a Hard Refresh takes care of that, although not all of the time). But this was weird. Going to run a Full Virus Scan. I did one not long ago, but I will do it again.
I just had the same thing happen a few minutes ago. First time my access to Etsy was denied. Mine said Etsy detected abnormal activity from my network. (Could be, my network is a satellite network and who knows what all the other people using it might be doing). I know I was doing something that didn't require the network at all for the last couple of hours. So, it wasn't me. Or was it, I was rude to the 4th cold caller in a row this morning. Could Etsy know that and be giving me a time-out?
I'm in-between leaving one network provider and signing up with another, so I just switched to the other network, and everything seemed normal.
That's interesting. Mine didn't say anything about abnormal activity. Just Access Denied on a white page (containing the Etsy Logo). And I have the same Internet Provider.
Sometimes an unknown network or device will pop a warning. "Is this you?" Scammer "Yeeeessss" Oh OK.
Update: Full Scan (recommended by @TBQSC ), showed no issues found. I'm sure Etsy is futzying around. I didn't care much for that Access Denied though.

OK, Thanks JD!
UPDATE: This happened again (2 days in a row now). "Access Denied" upon Signing In. When I closed that page, and Signed In again, I got the larger Sign In Sheet, which asked for my email and password. I entered it and was in. Bloody frustrating. *(Same desktop computer, Chrome, Windows 10).
@PrimFun I really do think Etsy is piddling around with the Sign In. There was another Thread yesterday about this. Let me see if I can find it.

@PrimFun JD, you are a life saver, Thank You! It was indeed Chrome. It had an Update, but did not tell me as it usually does. Each night, I clear cache, cookies. Then there is a "Safety Check". It also will tell me if Chrome is Up to Date or needs an Update. When there is an Update, after I select it, it says "Relaunch". I have been doing the Updates whenever it says.
Last night, there were no Updates (according to the Chrome Page). But just now, when I clicked the 3 Dots at the far Right > Help > About Google Chrome, it said there was an Update. I don't know why it didn't tell me that last night.
Thank You very much again! That "Access Denied" raised my BP; not a good time to be locked out:)
Update chrome (if your using) chrome doesn’t give notification that it needs an update you just have to go into setting and avoid chrome and it will update and then relaunch
@InkSplashDesign1 Thank You. I do use Chrome. And usually it tell me when there is an Update. Then I will select that, followed by Relaunch. But for some reason it didn't tell me this time. (Although there was indeed an Update to be done).
I don’t know if there’s a setting you need to toggle on your computer, but I love the simplicity of auto updates on my computer (windows, chrome, apps, virus checks, backups, etc).
@TBQSC I'm not sure either, but I'll look, Thanks. With Chrome, it has always let me know when it needs to do the Update. And I don't know why it didn't this time.
UPDATE: Today, I did not get "Access Denied" (thankfully). But I did get the smaller Sign In Form, which had me input my email address. Don't know why the different Sign In Form. *(same desktop computer, Chrome).

Your avatar has an otherworldly aura ... perhaps it scares the internet and locks you out.
LOL!
UPDATE: This is the third day in a row I have received the new Sign In Sheet. It says to enter email and password. Last 2 days, I entered my email (instead of User Name). Today however, when this new Form came up, instead of entering my email, I did as @NanaLetha suggested in another Thread, and entered my User Name. NanaLetha said she had been getting this new Sign In Form as well. And there were no problems. At least I am no longer getting "Access Denied". *(same desktop computer, Chrome, Windows 10).
Is there a box to tick to "stay signed in"?
Yes, there is. And I keep it ticked. But at the end of the night, when I clear cache, cookies, it clears that.
Ahh, yes clearing out those yummy cookies will do that, LOL! Is there a reason why you do that each night?
