Some I know well changed their email address without thinking. They cannot get to their OLD email now and when they try to log into their etsy account, etsy sends them a code to their OLD email. Useless. How can they get their email changed on Etsy??

I got the NS email account fixed and etsy emails are finally coming in! Took them 4 days to resolve the issue. Glad that is done!

Re: A close friend changed her email
Not helpful because that page requires you to be logged in. She cannot log in because she never gets the emails.

Re: A close friend changed her email
If this person can't log into their Etsy account, they still can reach out to Etsy support. There's a "Contact Support" button on the Help page (link above). They can explain the issue and ask about the next steps.

Re: A close friend changed her email
She will need to recover her old email address by contacting the provider.

Re: A close friend changed her email
That wont work. Her OLD email is hosted by networksolutions and many months ago etsy emails stopped coming through (as well as other businesses). She has access, but etsy emails ever come through.

Is it possible to get in by using a linked account (google, apple, etc.)?

Re: A close friend changed her email
Does she know her user name or is it one of those nasty, Etsy generated alphanumeric ones? Etsy ASKS for an email to log in, but you can use your user name instead. You can choose that you don't have access to your old email and they ask a few questions to verify. I did it late at night and the next morning they sent me a link so I could enter the new email. I was amazed at how quick they got back to me.

Re: A close friend changed her email
Interesting post, but when I try a login (my account) on a new browser, I see no option for username. If I enter my username in the email field I see no option for I don't have access to old email. How do I get to that? I want to have the steps exactly and test it before I send her the info.

Re: A close friend changed her email
You type your user name into the space where it says email address.
It used to say user name, but they changed it to say email address when they started assigning email addresses instead of letting us choose our user names, but the user names still work. I always use my user name as it is only 7 letters and my email is over 20.

@NoFrogsAllowed But you also said "You can choose that you don't have access to your old email and they ask a few questions to verify" and there is no option for that. If I pick I forgot the password it just wants to send an email.

Re: A close friend changed her email
@CoolCyberCats I always use my username to log in to Etsy using my desktop. I have never needed my email to log in.

@NanaLetha I use my user name as well but never have I seen something about no access to old email. Oh, I pretty much use a desktop exclusively.

Re: A close friend changed her email
You only see the "no access to old email" when you are in the process of changing your email address.
The user name just gets you into your shop and then you have to go to the change email page.

Oh, then no, if I enter her info (user name & password) it wants to send me an email.

Do you think she could try the call back number?

Re: A close friend changed her email
That link has a top talking about Canada postal strike, then a broken page under it (it has "null" in several locations) and if I test it with my # it does not work.

Re: A close friend changed her email
Unless you are trying to check how it works on HER computer, Etsy will want to verify it is HER by sending a code. You will have to check out the process using your info if you are using your computer.

Re: A close friend changed her email
My old ATT email froze ..even they couldn't access it and told me I'd need a new email. It was a disaster dealing w/ Etsy. There was a button for "if you cannot access your old email" in the email update area but it did ZERO. it took me 6 months to get help. I'd email for help but they'd never email me back. Finally I went through CHAT and they passed me on to the correct team. What helped I think was I have 2 other shops and asked them to reach out via one of those emails. They asked questions about last 4 of social, last 4 of bank account and a specific deposit amount. Finally fixed. SO try chat and ask to be passed on.

Re: A close friend changed her email
I tried a chat with Etsy Monday. At first they sent me to a page that required me to login. (dopes) So I pointed out that that won't work, to remember the issue. After a long hold, they said they are passing it on to the right team to help and they agreed to communicate through MY account. So I am on a wait for them, but not holding my breath, as I have dealt with Etsy support before.

Good luck. They have truly the worst "customer service" I have ever had to use.
