For many weeks, I have been receiving a 429 error when I try to access Etsy's website using my laptop or my phone. My internet provider informed me that Etsy's server is blocking my IP address AND their IP address after they conducted numerous tests with their equipment. They contacted Etsy's technical support and received no help in rectifying this situation. My internet provider has several thousand customers who are unable to access Etsy's website due to a 429 error. Has anyone else had this problem?

@westerngal1890: From experience, Etsy does block IP addresses, particularly of known VPN providers. Why they are masking it behind the incorrect error code is a mystery.
I appreciate your input. Thank you!
I came here to see if anyone else had this issue as my husband got this error today on his computer, he ended up figuring out what was happening. It was his Norton software that was blocking him and causing this error. Hopefully this can help someone else.
There are a lot of things that Norton does not like.
After extensive testing from my antivirus software company, they determined that Etsy's 429 error is not from using their software. I still am unable to access the Etsy website unless I use a VPN, and this requires changing my server location every day, or I receive a 429 error using a VPN. Any other suggestions?
I think Etsy do block the use of VPN's. Strange you can't access without a VPN though?
My 429 started when I installed Nord VPN.
I just change the location to a nearby state and that fixed it.
It drove me crazy until I figured that out.
When I reboot, (every 3 or 4 days), I have to change the location again.
If you shut down every day, you'll probably have to change the VPN location every day.
I see this is an old post, but this has been happening to me on and off for the past few months. It always seems to happen on my mobile devices because the only times I've been on the computer and trying to access it, lately I haven't had the problem. It is very strange. And it's very maddening, cause I actually just got scammed of significant $ recently because I was trying to call a number I thought was Etsy customer service because I could not pull up the site at all, nor the seller's app without theses messages, although I don't think at that point if I had tried it on my computer, so I can kick myself (long story and 20/20 vision--red flags--he had nothing to do with ETSY at all- but fraudster claiming to work there and that others were trying to hack my account, so see was going to help--yeah right! ) Anyway, I guess worst case scenario I'll have to contact my Internet provider as you did or just make sure I use my computer but it's not very convenient if you're getting a request or a message and you're out and about and you wanna respond. I just read a message above, and it said something about them blocking VPN so maybe that's my problem, I do have VPN installed on my mobile devices. I'll try turning those off while I'm trying to access Etsy and see if that makes a difference.
