2016 convo showing as new message

Why is a old convo originally from November 2016 and about an order shipped in 2016 showing up as a new message that was sent just a few hours ago?

I don't think anyone will have the answer!!  Must be a glitch.

I don't know why that happened but with the star seller program rules, I would mark it as spam and move on. You surely don't need to give it a real answer!

@GTHENRY: Was this a NEW message attached to an old thread (which Etsy is doing intentionally due to all the complaining about Star Seller message responses required) or was it the actual old message that was showing up as new?

It was an old message written in 2016 showing up as new and about a sale done in November 2016.

@GTHENRY: Is it showing up in the applicable CSV file as a new thread? If not, a glitch that will not affect your Star Seller stats.

@TonsOfPaper The issue isn't that an old conversation is showing up as new because it was just responded to. I've had the same thing happen this morning from a 2015 convo. The problem is that these very old messages are just now making their way to the recipient, years later, as if they have been lost in the mail all this time, and that is why they are just now responding.

@GTHENRY I've experienced the same thing, twice this week. One from 2109 and one from 2015. Both were responding to these years old messages as if they just received them. Neither was part of an ongoing thread with multiple communications. It sounds like the "solution" provided here was written by someone that doesn't quite understand the issue.

There have been several posts about this.  I doubt if buyers are replying to years old threads.
