Curious about Storenvy? Just ask!

First of all- hello! I'm Kaleigh. I run www.uejewelry.com and started my online store on Etsy in 2009, and made the switch to Storenvy in March of 2011.

I'd like to open up the first post to answer any questions about Storenvy. Questions? Concerns? If this is the first you've heard of it, take a look at www.storenvy.com.

Now- ask away! What would you like to know about Storenvy stores?

Thanks Adam, Claire, I will check in with you as soon as I have finished getting my inventory loaded.
What are your thoughts: I have a couple of wholesale buyers and possibly a couple more who are interested. It feels like I spend a lot of time updating linesheets to keep them current with what supplies I can get to fulfill larger scale orders. I have decided to use Storenvy for this purpose. The fact that items can be listed in multiple categories - unlike Etsy - is a real advantage. I have made a category for Wholesale and I am just going to refer to the link and then attach an explanation sheet with my terms: I will then just offer a straight discount off of the retail price based on $ amount ordered.
What do you think?

I have a shop that is closed at the moment for maintenance. I have a couple of questions about Storenvy that I"m hoping someone can answer.

1) Is there an importer for items from etsy or other shops?

2) Are there multiple themes?

I just opened a storenvy shop and am still working on setting up the backgrounds and adding product! The color wheel has me a little confused...

There is now an importer...on another thread in this team!! It worked great!!

I also found a fellow etsian to create graphics for me, so I'm good. Just waiting for the google address importer function to be cleared up so I can sell my things.

I just opened my Storenvy shop and I do not see shipping on any items. I see it has a built in shipping for our Product Categories but, the Housewares category can be a broad variety of items with very different weights to ship!

Is this meant to be free shipping with the ship price just built into my selling price?

It also would be line to have a Linens category under Housewares along with pottery, Not just Pillows!

Claire... I'm soooo lost. I'm just a simple web designer and am trying to embed my storenvy into my site. I see that it has an iFrame buster and that is the extent of my know how. I looked at the source code for your site. It looks like you did this thru AJAX? Am I right? And how could I get the code that would allow me to do the same?

Am in the process of starting up a store on storenvy. Where do you put in shipping charges or are you supposed to calculate it into the price of your item?

Has anyone who makes handmade actually had a sale on Storenvy?
I make solid perfume lockets. There are lockets on that site from Hong Kong for $1.00! I am thinking that Storenvy might be a good place for resellers but not for handmade.

@secretgardennotes You can set up shipping on Storenvy just like you do on Etsy. In your dashboard, under setting, there is a section for shipping rates. The groups are for setting the shipping rates for specific types of items and the classes are for the locations.

I actually made quite a few sales on Storenvy over the holidays with my ornaments, which are all cut and sewn by hand. My Etsy shop still did better overall, but having the Storenvy shop was definitely worth it. There are a lot of reselllers on Storenvy, but there is also quite a lot of handmade.

I was a little concerned when I saw the ready made, inexpensive items but I'm going to try it for awhile and see how it goes.

I do want to let everyone know. Storenvy is a platform to sell and you need to promote it. If you let your products sit there it won't sell. I've been with storenvy for a year and I've sold 2 items to browsers from storenvy. ( it tells you on your order) I've sold mostly to my customers who I direct them to my site.

Is Paypal the only method of payment accepted? I seemed to have read that you can use Google checkout, but I can't find that article again. Thanks!

@secretgardennotes I sell all of my handmade items on storenvy and make great sales. I opened up my shop here on etsy Nov 2012 and I barely had any sales/views even when I posted up new items (spaced out every day or every other day). I joined storenvy shortly after opening my etsy shop and my sales have taken off. A lot of my sales are through the Storenvy marketplace. I guess I am like a needle in a haystack here on etsy since there are soo many stores.

Marcia, one person can run multiple shops, you just need a different email address for each account. You can however use the same PayPal account for both stores.

for those who have been successful, what have you guys done to help standout from the crowd? Any tips for a newbie on Storenvy?

Is the only forum on Storenvy the Store Owner Forums? Seems like it's the same threads over and over.

I slowly getting sales on there at storenvy but it takes a lot of work since I do more self promotion there... I go into the forums here and there but what I like is that more people are viewing my stuff over there... so its a nice change... All I can tell you is to promote your items and link them to storenvy that itself works, I interact them on my facebook page and I do put out facebook ads to get them going to the site... so slowly but surely I am gaining ground there... its working little at a time for me :)

I recently discovered Storenvy and I was really excited about the prospect of having my own professional looking stores. I quickly got disappointed because I paid someone to help customise my stores around 10th May 2013 but this guy just went quiet, he got in touch about a week ago apologised . I was happy he was back and accepted his apology. He said he would finish the work to my three stores within two days. Before completing the first one, he has disappeared again and is not responding to my emails.I am so frustrated I just don't where to turn for help. I cant seem to find a forum where i can seek some advise and I have also noticed that there is no feedback system so as customer or seller , you cant know the history of however you are buying from or selling to. I am so frustrated that I am trying anything to have my problem solved. Through desperation, I was able to google and find this team. I need help. I have invested my money in stock that i need to sell. I don't have money to pay someone new. and the whole thing has cost me time.please HELP anyone
