July/August Goals

So. This is Steph from Crown + Cole, Of Mountaineers, etc. etc. etc.

And I have just opened ANOTHER new shop.
I know what you are thinking.
Seriously? Another?

What can I say? I am a glutton for punishment!
I just realized that the part of my business that I enjoy the most is taking photos - and playing with my friends DSLR was so much more fun than actually making the jewelry itself!

I have a great Canon (not a DSLR, but it does the job for now) and I take photos ALL the time. So I just thought... why not? I'll still make jewelry of course, but why not branch out?

So I opened a photography shop and we'll see where it goes! I am up to 33 listings in just the few days I've been open!

GOAL - 150 by the end of August. It is lofty, I know. Wish me luck!

Ok, at first, I did think "crazy" but I looked at the new shop and love it.
This is great photography and definitely needs a shop on its own.
You are going to busy with jewelry and photos, but if anyone can do it, it is you.
Really excited to see more photos, especially nature.

Steph!!!!! Stop making me feel inadequate and lazy! I love what your doing with your new shop and as for the idea of starting a third shop, I concur with Nikki - if anyone can do it, it's you :)

P.S. The Russian Architecture photos in particular are awesome.

Hahaha, thanks guys!!! Ellareki, don't feel inadequate! I think I just like to try to see how much I can add to my plate before I collapse!
This shop has been kind of a reprieve though - it is so relaxing to go out and hike and snap photos! A good break from the day job and other things...

You rock, Steph. Everytime I tell my husband I want another shop he tells me to get my head checked. I love the photographs!! You have such a strong eye for aesthetics, I think you will do really well with this!

Wow Steph! You are amazing! You are right, though, it's very therapeutic to go out and take pictures in nature. I love the pictures! You definitely have a talent for it. Does this mean you got a DSLR?? Congratulations on the sale!!!

Thank youuu!!! I was so surprised - and so excited - to see I had a sale! I really did not expect anything for a while! Gosh, I am literally obsessed with taking photos now, I spend at least an hour a day walking around, hiking, visiting parks, or whatever!
I haven't gotten a DSLR yet - still saving up! For now, I am using my Canon XS260, but I have to say, I have been pretty pleased with it!

I love the new photography!!! I think that opening this new shop was definitely a risk worth taking because your photos are stunning and the pay off of will be even better. Yet I do not necessarily mean a financial payoff (although you will have that too) but mentally and emotionally. Through having a new creative outlet you will look at the world in different ways and it will enhance everything else that you do. That really goes to show that one should always follow their passion and allow themselves to go wherever their creative journey takes them. I am really looking forward to seeing the new photographs and hearing about your success in this new venue.
