FieldSketch September Goals

I can't believe that September is already here!

My goals:

Add 30 new photos
Build up a Facebook page
Investigate photography products to add

I have a question too -
I have all of my photos listed as 8x10 prints, and then I have listings for other sizes - like "11x14, any print of your choice"
This is how one photography shop I looked at does it. Another shop I looked at takes every photo and lists each size uniquely - so the same photo would appear five times in the shop, but each listing is for a different size.
I'm not sure which approach is better... adding all the sizes for each individual photo would greeaaaatly increase my number of listings - I mean I could get up to 400, probably. But I don't know if that's the best way to do it?

Great job on the sale. I received my necklaces today (love them) and you put in a couple cards with some of your photos on them. The photos are so beautiful!!! If you all think these photos are great, you really need to see them in person. Amazing stuff. I am sure this new shop will take off!!

I know. My goals will go through the roof haha! The camera won't be in until the 20th, so I think next weekend will be dedicated to hiking and shooting pictures!

Thank you! I am so excited! The camera should be in tomorrow, but the lens won't arrive until Friday (I bought them separately), so my photo-taking has been on a hiatus!

I love all of the work you've done! I really, really LOVE the heart tree one, I might need that one for myself!

I personally would list the different sizes for each print on each listing, but not combine the 2 kinds of prints. When I have a "variation" that I sell for a totally different price, I put a link to that item in the listing text. Its a pain in the butt, but I think it helps the customers.

Also, Steph, I am so impressed with the growth of your new shop -- very well done. (And I wear one of your necklaces at least once or twice a week... would hate to see you give up on your jewelry completely...)

I agree with what you said too... I've been thinking about it and I decided to just offer one kind of paper, but different sizes, in each listing.

Emma/Nikki - Emma, you made me smile so much, thanks! :) I actually have been missing making jewelry lately, so I think I might make up some new designs! I need to get some more stringing supplies, but I do miss it!

A DSLR is a digital single-lens reflex camera - in other words, a big camera with changeable lenses!! It came in today, I am so excited! The battery is charging now! Unfortunately, it's raining today. :(

What is a giclee print anyways?

I'm so excited! I am hoping that there will still be raindrops on things in the morning! I just can't go out with it pouring rain - my camera is supposed too be weather proof, but I'm to protective of it still haha!

A giclee print is done on soft cotton paper instead of photo paper and the way that the photo is printed, it looks more like a water color painting than a photograph. They are super pretty! Painters and other artists use giclees for their prints usually.

The cost like 4x the amount of normal photo prints, though!

I LOVE the butterfly pictures! They are amazing. And I like the basil. It's not something I would have thought to take a picture of, but I love how it looks. I am glad you are having so much fun with your new camera! I don't blame you for being protective! I would be too.

Thank you!! I have been wanting to get some monarch pictures for a while! Swallowtails seem to be a lot more common in NC, where I am from, but monarchs are more common here in IL where I am studying!

And yeah, the basil was random, but I noticed that a lot of people sell "kitchen" art on here, so I thought I would give it a try!
