I'm new to Etsy, having opened my shop a week ago. No sales yet (sigh) but I remain hopeful. My question is; how do other shops pack and ship their stones? I am planning on making a bubblewrap envelope to put the cab in and putting that in a bubblewrap mailing envelope. I hope that is enough protection from USPS dropping it on the floor. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I put my cabs in a little ziploc baggie, then tape that to a piece of cardboard, then another cardboard on top, all wrappedup in 1 sq. ft. of bubble wrap, then I put that in a bubble envelope!
Hi Lance I use Friendly Foam mailers, the paper is heavy and they are lined with closed cell foam, I like them better than the yellow bubble wrap envelopes which I used for years but always felt were vunerable to puncture. Anyway, stones go individually in zip baggies which I then wrap in a little bubble wrap and tape shut.
Paul, Nice!! I do mine exactly the same way- Except a staple in the bag instead of tape. Some of my smaller, high-end cabs get a home in a diamond paper instead of a baggie though.
Hi Mark Welcome..!!! I have shipped 10,000 cabs using a padded envelope I buy in bulk on ebay and wrap the stone or stones in small bubble wrap or recycle used bubble packs I get my shipments in with out ever a broken stone for 12 years now. I use the # 0 size ..they are also available at Sams if a large cab I do put between thicker cardboard with the small bubble pack. The post office wants the padded envelope to be at least I think 1/2 inch thick minimum, so do not worry about getting to thick , but to thin Wish you well James
