I managed to get it to replace the text properly in one section and now it's stopped working for the other sections. I'm pretty frustrated. I tried on 2 different computers. Restarted application. Restarted computers and it's still doing "no change" to the text in the description. I tried replacing the text and just removing text, neither worked. I even tried last night, went to bed and tried again this morning. I've already updated my variations through Etsy and now I need to change the description text to support that, and now I guess I will need to go change about 100 listings individually. :( Aggravated that the money spent on the key used for today was mostly a waste

When trying to replace / remove a text please copy the text you want to replace / remove from the edit page on Etsy rather than the listing view on your browser.

Hello, I'm having problems editing listings on SS. When I edit a listing it's telling me I need to change my item titles (by putting a red box around my title and not allowing me to save the listing). I know for a fact my titles are not over the allowable characters because I've edited them myself via etsy directly. Please help!

Just emailed. I'm having the same issue as UnrulyTails. I keep getting the "no change" when trying to add, remove, or replace text in my descriptions (which I DESPERATELY need to do TODAY.) Tried restarting the app several times and my computer. Please help, I need this to work asap. Thanks.

Hi I'm new and I've been trying for ages to get shop shaper to work and even tried paying for keys today but I'm still having error/cancel messages appear. It happens right at the start where I'm supposed to "add new shop". Once I get to the screen where I click the link, authorise on Etsy and pop the code into the box, whether or not I use my "free trial" or now my paid keys (I paid out of desperation to get it to work) it always results in an error message and then I end up trying the whole process again. I have never managed to get this to work and I am desperate now.
I have a mass of sale edits in my shop from Black Friday after another platform failed me last month to fix this issue with their progra, to return over 500 listings back to normal after previously editing them just fine. I need to run a sale ideally from tomorrow but need to fix these listings first. Please can you help me? Has anyone had this problem? :(

Hi Naomi,

Downloading the newest Java version should solve that issue and we recommend downloading a JDK (which is a bigger file) rather than the JRE (JDK includes JRE). Here is the link:

Usually our customers don’t have to do all this work, but a recent issue has forced us to find solutions like this. Hopefully our new version will not have this issue at all.

Once you have ShopShaper running, remember to copy the text you want to delete / replace from the listing's edit page on Etsy, rather than the regular listing view.

Hi again!

I'm sorry I just went onto the link and it's way over my head I have no idea which link to download, They're all development kits??? There are loads for windows, I don't know where to begin. Can you advise at all? Thanks for getting back to me, I would really like to try and get this to work so for now I'll keep the keys until I am certain it won't work for me in which case I will probably take the refund. I'm hopeful though! I've tried everything now so this is my last hope. Thanks for your time!

We are really sorry that our users have to grapple with this. We are working hard to get the new version out shortly, so that these steps will not be necessary. Thankfully not all of our users have this problem.

Hi Gaelle,

I assume that you are trying to edit the price on listings that have variations. Unfortunately, our current version does not support variations and that is why you are getting that error. Editing other parts should work fine.

hi there,

I am trying to replace text in my listings and when I fill out the old text section and the new text section then click "preview" nothing changes. (nothing changes still if I try to simply remove the old text). I tried making other changes and they show up. And I thought maybe just the preview doesn't work so tried actually making the changes and that didn't work either. please help?

We just reset your free trial time so that you can use ShopShaper for another week. You can re-activate by simply leaving the activation key field empty

If you could send me the shopshaper_log.txt file that is located at the same place as your ShopShaper, I could see what the problem is.

But in general, downloading and installing the newest Java version on your other computer should solve your issue and we recommend downloading a JDK (which is a bigger file) rather than the JRE (JDK includes JRE). hello,

I'm trying to change the categories of my items with shopshaper but my changes do not appear at etsy. now I found that the categories at etsy and the categories in shopshaper are different. eg. there is a top-level categorie "furniture" in shopshaper which is not available when I edid my item directly at etsy.

Hi Markus. The current version of ShopShaper still has the old categories. That is why the changes have no effect. The new version will reflect the new ones.
