Need help adding and removing from description!!

I purchased the one month subscription because I have 2 shops. I am going on vacation after next week and rather than shut my shops completely down I have always added a message in each description (using Betsi Lite) letting customers know when I am leaving and when I will be back. Well, Betsi is no more so I found your program. I got my first shop unloaded and added my information to the beginning of each of my 500 listings. Figured out the first 20 or so didn't have a return space between my vacation information and the product information so I went back to remove the text I entered so I could redo it and it didn't work....How do you remove information from your description that you have added?? Obviously when I return from vacation I will no longer want this information at the beginning of all my descriptions but when I try to edit it out it says NO CHANGE and the listing remains unchanged. There is no way I have time to manually delete this information from all my listings....please help!!

I already sent you an email, but thought it better to post a reply here as well, for the benefit of other users who have the same issue.

Please try copying the text you want to replace/delete from the edit page on Etsy, rather than the listing’s regular view in your shop or from Word, etc. Text copied from those places sometimes have hidden markup characters in them, so that they don’t get recognised as the same text.

What message do you get when trying to remove text? Are you on a Mac or Windows machine and was there a recent update of some sort you had to install?

I just get "no change" I have successfully removed text in the past ( a week or so ago) - but this time it is not removing a particular block of text from my l all my istings . I am on Mac no updates that I know of.

The "no change" message is the one that comes up when there is a slight difference in the text that you want to remove and the one you enter. That is why we say that you should copy it from the edit page. Sometimes users leave one empty line too much (before or after the text) and think that the two texts are the same. You could try removing a sentence first and click on preview to see if it gets recognised.

Hi! I've had the same problem as Ben Vincent had here above. I've done everything suggested and when I go to see if they have changed, they are the same. Nothing has changed.

At first I saw "no change" each time and saw your response about users leaving one empty line too much.

Used that method and it said it worked - so I went to check - nope. Help?
