Introductions

Please tell us a little about yourself. What kind of device(s) do you use? What do you sell? How long have you been on Etsy?

Re: Introductions

What a great idea for a team!

I have a three-year-old iPad 3, and I do most of my Etsying on it. I've been on Etsy for two and a half years. I honestly would never have been able to get my shop going without my iPad.

I have two stores, this one for most vintage, including sewing patterns, fabric, toys, and other items. My other shop is OpenBookPreserve, which is just for vintage books, postcards, photos, and other paper.

I'm glad to be here! 🙂

Re: Introductions

Welcome, Jane. Thanks so much for coming on board!

I guess I should introduce myself. I sell vintage. I have an iPad Air that I carry with me everywhere. I've had an iPad for less than a year... not sure how I got along without it, ha, ha!

Re: Introductions

Hi everyone and thanks for the invite Joanne! I am Caroline and I have been on Etsy for 7 months. I sell fabric accessories. I have had my Ipad air only for 4 months but I do most of my Etsy work on it now. I take my photos, edit them and upload them straight from my Ipad. Just love it!

Welcome, Karen and Caroline!

Let's just say that I got the idea to start this team because of iPad photography issues I have been having taking item photos.

Re: Introductions

Hi everyone. I have an iPad mini that is a couple of years old and it is my go to when taking photos of my products because the pictures are just that much better than my smartphones camera and I don't do well with digital cameras. I'm more of a point and shoot gal. I sell personal space aromatherapy products and 'green' feminine hygiene products. am seriously thinking of creating a new shop to separate the two.

Thanks for the invite. If i can learn new things about using the iPad or share anything I do with mine it will be a good use of time here!

Re: Introductions

I have had my shop open for 1 yr 9mths and am a jewelry artisan. I had so much trouble with the photography for my shop until on a whim used my iPhone, I was so happy with the results and have spent the last year trying to improve. I also just replace my iPad with the iPad Pro. Love the size but stick with the phone for my pics. Hoping that the Pro will be easier to edit listings, etc when we are traveling. I call our RV my rolling studio and we spend about 3 months of the year on the road. It is so awesome to keep my shop open and doing business as usual no matter where we are.

Re: Introductions

Hello everyone! I'm Kate and my shop is all about accessories for you and your home.
I set up my shop using my iPad in September, and I do everything on it! I find it's particularly good for photo editing. I use my iPhone 6 when I'm out and about to keep up with updates and take photos, but my iPad is the real workhorse!
I got a computer a couple of weeks ago but I tend to just use that for graphic design, I can't let go of my tablet love! 😉

Nice to meet you all!

Re: Introductions

Joanne, your invitation came just when I was wondering how to do a number of things with my new iPad mini and iPhone6s. I've had an iPad for several years and love it, but never a smartphone of any kind until this month. A special upgrade came with the iPhone, so I'm giving my old one to my daughter, who will use it for her art work, and now have an even better model.

However, I am used to taking my photos--I have a vintage shop--with my single lens reflex camera and then editing with picmonkey.com and fotofuze.com. I haven't taken any pix for my shop with my iPad or iPhone--though I do upload those to Instagram and Facebook--and am interested in learning how to edit and do everything on an ios device.

I'm also interested in how to use these devices for the new Shop Updates and the #EtsyGifts currently being promoted by Etsy for sellers. And how to maneuver more effectively within the Etsy and Etsy Seller apps for our shops.

Thanks for this opportunity to learn, Joanne!

Re: Introductions

Thank you Joanne for the invite. I have only had my ipad mini for a few weeks and am slowly getting to love it, having been a 'Windows gal' for so many years. I bought it just so that I could use the Sell on Etsy app for the Shop Updates, believing that this app would be a good investment. It hasn't proved me wrong. My views have almost doubled annd I can't help but think that the app is the reason. I still have a great deal to learn, as it is so different to my tablet and laptop, but you're never to old to learn, are you.

Re: Introductions

Hi, I'm Debbie! I've been selling vintage on Etsy since 2011. Boy time flies!

This has proven to be a timely encounter, as my computer's hard drive died last night:) I woke wondering how on earth I was going to use my iPad to get everything done today!
We managed to get another hard drive up and running, but I don't want to be in this situation again( Panic:)

I currently use my iPhone to take pisc and post listings in draft form and finish them on the computer. Love Snapseed!!
I have both the Sell on Etsy app, and the Regular Etsy app. I don't use the Etsy app much.
I find it time consuming to click and favor treasuries, not to mention create them!

I'm really excited to be here!! Downright Giddy!!

Re: Introductions

Welcome to Miranda, Donna and Deb. Thanks so much for coming aboard! I have not been using a mobile device for very long myself and find I have a question just about every day.

Deb, I can't tell you how many times I have had a pc issue and have to google it on my device, and visa-versa. Thanks : )

Re: Introductions

Hello! My name is Kaela and I am a college student from Virginia. I launched my shop in late April of 2015, and I love it! I put it up after months of preparing it on my laptop, and recently decided to use my ipad purely for productive purposes relating to my Etsy.

As for my shop, I crochet and embroider. Many of my things are useful, but my primary focus is nerdy/geeky things.

Currently I use my tablet for brainstorming/prewriting blog post ideas, and I also use it at in-person vending events with my card reader. I accepted the invite to the team because I want to find more ways to use it! Most of my work gets done on my trusty laptop.

Welcome, Kaela!

I do a lot from my PC, personally. My husband sits in his easy chair behind me working on his laptop many evenings : )

Re: Introductions

Thanks so much for the team invitation!

The cliff notes: Kristen, I live in Laurel, MD with hubby (Michael) and my rescued Australian Cattle Dog (Ranger). I have been selling on Etsy since 2012 and love the convenience of running my shop from an iPad.

The longer version:
I'm a freelance graphic designer and recovering people-pleasing perfectionist who got started selling on Etsy after some health issues made it practically impossible for me to work at a regular job. Creativity has always been a big part of my life and so I decided to try my hand at selling some of the things I made. I started out with a jewelry shop here on Etsy, then as I grew I added other items including handcrafted ribbon ornaments and inspirational art prints.

I run about half my business from my iPad. As a graphic designer, I use the computer A LOT, but the iPad is a really convenient way to check in with my shop, promote items, and to fulfill orders without having to be attached to the computer 🙂

Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome, Kristen!

I see from this thread that many of our members are iPad users, so I started a dedicated thread. Please let me know if I should open a thread for other types of tablets!

Re: Introductions

Hi Joanne & Everyone!
Thank you for the invitation to your team. I'm pretty new to Etsy; I've been here just over 2 months. I make hand-painted tote bags, and I've really enjoyed my Etsy experience so far. The forums have been a great source of information and support.

I have an iPad Air 2. I LOVE how it makes working on my Etsy shop so easy! I am excited to learn more about Etsy and iPads through this team.
Again, thank you! Kristi
