Hello everyone! I make and sell beaded jewelry in my shop. I do EVERYTHING with my iPad Air - I would feel completely lost without it! I was having some difficulty with photos, until a fellow jewelry artisan recommend Picsart Photo Studio. It's made brightening my photos easier. I'm really happy to be part of this team 🙂
I opened my shop in June 2015 and sell crochet, macrame, weaving, and mosaics. I have a Nexus10 and Sony xperia. I do most of my business on the tablet. The Sony is great when out and about and will do everything the tablet can. I do find it easier on a larger screen I use the Sony for taking all my photos the quality is much better than my tablet. I see other people doing clever things with their devices on etsy and wonder how do they do that. Have learned a few things just from reading the discussions. Nice to meet you all.
Hi All! I'm a photographer (well for this shop at least). I actually have 6 active shops... "active" is relative of course, but I try. lol They're all listed in my profile per Etsy's rules of course. 😉
I've only had a smart phone for about a year and half. But I had an iPad Mini before that. The iPad has gone berserk so I'm relying more and more on my iPhone to keep track of day to day (or hour to hour) business.
I still do the bulk of my work on a my iMac and Macbook Pro, but seriously feel like I couldn't live without my iPhone now even though I seldom actually "talk" on it.... funny.
This shop I'm posting from is my most current and I'm hoping to eventually incorporate "on the spot" listings of images I photograph. Not sure that will work, but will be fun to try.
Hi Everyone, I have been using iPad mini to do practically everything online for the past three years including running my etsy shop. I no longer have to photograph with a camera, remove memory card, insert mc into PC and then down load, then upload...boring. So quick and easy with iPad mini and I think my photos are 'good enough' even though I know they are not brilliant.I love the etsy app too especially for notifications etc.
I'm Anne. I use an iPad mini to do most of my Etsy work, supplemented by my HP laptop. I'm kind of the opposite of techie. A bit vintage on my way to antique!
I don't have, and have never wanted, a truly smart phone. I have a flip phone. But lately I've been wondering if an iPhone would be an asset, since I've begun to carry my iPad around all the time with my air card, so why not put it all on a smaller, lighter weight device?
Opened my business Annie's Song in 1996, a bricks and mortar showroom. I sell antiques and vintage items. Opened my Etsy shop mid-June, 2015. Have learned a bunch since then and something new every day.
I hope now to learn about using social media for my shop. Hope all of you can help! Look forward to working with you!
Hi everyone, Thanks Joanne, for your invitation. I LOVE ipads, especially my ipad pro which has a keyboard. It takes quite good photos but I prefer to use a real camera - I edit on the ipad. I'm hoping Etsy will make an app specifically for the ipad (rather than the iphone) soon . One thing I've noticed is that if I try to upload photos onto Etsy using Safari, I get a message that they can't be uploaded because they are over 10MB, but when I upload using the app there is no problem. Looking forward to learning more from the other members of the team! Ally
Hi, thanks for the invite. I have an iPad mini(for writing)and iPhone(for pictures) they are both used. Sometimes I have to use my mother's Apple computer(that's for the weight part of listing items that doesn't seem to be on the app. And it's very frustrating) As to what I list its handmade jewelry. It's mostly polymer clay and I'll soon be adding some wire earrings. So about myself I have a BFA in metals (Bachelor's of fine arts degree) from Edinboro University. Art has always been apart of my life. It started when I was little and my grandma taught me how to paint. I always had art classes in highschool. Even now I always have a sketchbook on me. I'm always looking for some help with technology.
Ally, I agree, it would be nice to have an Etsy app better suited to the iPad. My first iPad, I used it in the truck when we travel. I had my sunglasses on and turns dark when you use it in portrait mode. So no Etsy app while traveling (in the sun, at least).
Emily, so wonderful that you can use your degree making and selling here on Etsy! (Mine is in Agricultural Education with an emphasis in Horticulture. Not using it so much these days.)
Welcome, Emily and Ally, we are glad to have you on board. We are all learning : )
Emily, you can create several shipping profiles for various sized packages on the app. I create the listing on my iPhone with the required content, then save it to draft and finish on the computer. The only thing I really do on the desktop is the description. Easier with a full keyboard:)
Hello All: I am so happy to have found a team devoted to selling on Etsy with an iPad. I have not attempted to do so as yet, but am hoping to get started soon. I received an iPad Pro for Christmas. I am leaning towards getting a combination cover/keyboard as I am not fond of the keyboard that it provides. I have already learned so much from reading posts here. I sell vintage buttons and paper items, my two loves. I am looking forward to visiting all of the team member's shops! Good to meet all of you.
Thanks for the invite. I have an iPad Air and have been on etsy since 2009. I sell mostly pet items. I do have another shop that sells vintage but I have that on vaca as I am busy sewing for this shop. I am pretty much running my business on my iPad. I do have a laptop too and iPhone. But do more on the iPad. I like them all for different reasons
Hi All I have an iPad mini (2 years) that I use to take all my Etsy photos. I then transfer them to the desktop and edit from there. If you look in my shop you'll see that I'm no good at either of these tasks! I have my iPad beside me when I craft so that I can pick up sales/convos quickly. Hoping to pick up some useful tips on here.
A big welcome to VintageVendor, TheHomespunLoft and Brindavan Crafts. We are so happy you are joining us here to increase our overall expertise on our devices.
Hello! I've been on Etsy since 2013. I mainly use my computer, I-phone, and Android tablet to shop and manage my business. I knit things, but my main sellers so far are yoga socks in custom sizes. I want to sell other things too. I'm looking forward to learning how to better utilize my devices to help my shop!
Hi there. I have a total of four shops and sell a little bit of everything...vintage, industrial, supplies, rusty stuff, and handmade metal art.
I have a Galaxy Tab 3 which I really only bought to be able to take credit cards at art shows. Its slow and really annoys the crap out of me most of the time. My phone is also an Android device which I also bought for taking credit cards (before I really started selling on here). I love my phone because the battery life is amazing.
My phone takes good photos, but we use a Nikon Cool Pix for our photos and Photo Shop or PicMonkey for editing. I do most of my shop work on my laptop and on my desktop only occasionally.
I have one shop signed in on the "Sell" app, but really never use the app for anything that doesn't happen in that shop. Even then I only answer convos on it. Its annoying that Android users can't have all of our shops on the app so I get notifications for all of my shops through email all forwarded to one address. Hearing those "Ka-chings" is great, but it would be better if all my shops were on the app AND I could handle convos much quicker.
I usually end up going through the browser on my phone if I have to do much of anything else in any of the shops (when I don't have my computer handy). I don't list or edit using the app.
I don't really see that the app is useful for me right now, but I keep it just in case I should happen to get the "Ka-ching" in that shop.
Hello everyone thank you for the invite. I am a wood working Artisan and at the current time the only thing I make that is related to the team is a smartphone cabinet. I don't have any in my store currently. Donnie
Donnie, thanks for joining. We look forward to seeing your wares!
Donna and Tim, I don't use the app much on my iPad, either. I likewise have a Nikon CoolPix : ) But I also use my iPads for photos. However, I am having issues accessing the clouds so I can actually access my photos on my PC. I have to call Apple and try to work it out.
Thanks for joining, everyone!! -------------------------------------- Please let me know if we need more thread topics! (I seriously considered starting one about Etsy's search bug yesterday.)
Hello! I have just one shop here. I've been selling online since '97 and here for 5 years this fall. I use both my iPhone and my iPad for business. I have no idea which model either one of them is, son picked them out since he is our family geek. I only have Corel draw on the PC, and have just about abandoned the laptop! The iPad is so much easier to carry when we travel! But I know there are easier ways of doing things than what I am doing, and am anxious to learn from you all.
