Whoo hoo!  Big day in US politics today.  Should be interesting!  Congrats to Georgia!

Also of interest - Pennsylvania Senate refused to swear in newly elected Dem. senator, in a hearing presided over by Lt. Gov. Fetterman, who was so vocally incensed, they voted to have him removed from the session, and he was escorted out.

Gosh, I hope we have a Fetterman on the big ticket, at some point!

And this too - yesterday morning, there was a "leak" out of Scotland's Prestwich airport that a military type jet (the kind use for VP and Flotus) was planning on landing there on Jan. 19th.  Day before the Inauguration.  Miles from Trump-owned Turnberry resort.  Well - I don't know if thee rumor was confirmed or not - but Scottland's First Minister said no go, due to non-essential travel ban just imposed, due to Covid.

Rumors that Mr. Trump would head for Scotland flared after a Scottish paper reported that an American military version of a Boeing 757 — sometimes used by Mr. Trump — was scheduled to land at a nearby airport on Jan. 19, the day before Joseph R. Biden Jr. is to be sworn in as president.

“We are not allowing people to come into Scotland,” Ms. Sturgeon told reporters in Edinburgh, “and that would apply to him just as it applies to anybody else — and coming in to play golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose.”

A plain-spoken politician, Ms. Sturgeon said she did not know what Mr. Trump’s travel plans were, but that she hoped his immediate plan was to exit the White House.

The current resident must be very excited seeing his supporters storm the steps of the Capitol.  There is video showing protestors heading into the House Chambers.  Both Senate and House have taken a break until the protestors leave. Everyone is supposed to lock themselves in their offices or other rooms, they are in siege mode.

I am a bit shocked but trumplican Q-nuts have been openly planning this online for weeks, right down to how to sneak weapons in, so not that surprising. More shocked that they were able to enter without tear gas, rubber bullets and lots of blood shed. Where are the violent mass arrests, or is that just for trump photo ops. To be white in America. Now some are claiming it was antifa bussed in, that 'patriots' would never do this. It is seriously a cult.

me too, as in how I feel, but this was openly planned--I think what shocks me is that it looks like it was allowed to happen. I'm against making snap judgements based on video snippets, but the crowd control did look flimsy to put things mildly.

I didn't see that one - this is as bad as the video he posted telling the protesters to go home, but of course not before telling them the election was a fraud. 
Maybe they can't delete the POTUS or White House accounts but they d*rn sure should be able to "disappear" his personal account.

Sad news, the woman shot has died. The information about who she is or why she was in the building hasn't been aired yet. 

One small little bit of good news but it appears the Georgia Senate races now give Democrats the majority, with both Mr. Warnock & Mr. Ossoff winning their races. I believe Ossoff's will fall into the "automatic recount" due to % of difference between he & Perdue. Normally this would be BIG news, Democrats doing happy dances. Instead we have the violence in DC.

Listening to CNN right now. Apparently first YouTube & Facebook removed Trump's "go home, be peaceful, even though you & I both know the election was stolen" video & then apparently Twitter did too (along with others). Now news reporting that Trump's account locked (maybe for only 12 hours?)

I do hope the Capitol Police, DC City Police, National Guard, LE & NG Members from other States, FBI, ATF & all the others are prepared to stay for a really long time.

Senate lawmakers voted late Wednesday to reject the challenge to Biden's victory in the state of Arizona, and the House followed suit, but with many Republicans in favor of overturning the state's results. A similar result played out for the state of Pennsylvania, with both chambers voting to reject the challenge to Biden's victory there.

Republican House lawmakers also objected to the electoral votes in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin, but no senator would join in those objections."...

I was still wide awake & watching the news when the House Introduced objection to Georgia presented. When Pence asked if the Representative if he had anyone from the Senate to "second his motion", the gentleman stated something to the effect that "due to what happened earlier in the afternoon, he'd lost his backing". Well, the GOP apparently did keep up the charade with Pennsylvania. Voters NEED to remember who started this, who continued the saga after the States certified their votes & who continued to carry out Trump's bidding in spite of the violence & mayhem that Trump encouraged. 

Then it would appear that Trump's staff is still oblivious - this posted to The White House Twitter account by Dan Scavino, Deputy Chief of Staff:

I have always said we would continue our...fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. It's hard to imagine what has happened to the USA. Some "tv show hosts" & even elected members of Congress trying to blame Antifa for the violence. But when you see the freakin' White House Twitter Account post such nonsense, guess we shouldn't be surprised.

For what it's worth - I'm seeing a lot of Etsy mentions on Twitter - in regard to the FBI finding a Black Lives Matter protester last summer by search Etsy for the t-shirt she wore, then looking through the reviews.  Compared to the FBI asking for the public's help in identifying yesterday's rioters / terrorists in DC - many of which are easily found through social media.

CNN reporting that one of the people who breached the building was a West Virginia State Lawmaker. He posted his video to social media, though later deleted it. His excuse was that he entered as a journalist, a member of the media, to record what was going on. 
Florida news reporting that the person who was toting around Speaker Pelosi's lectern was from Florida - id made & possibly already under arrest.

I was thinking this morning, yesterday should have been a day for "a ritual task", the Electoral College Vote. It should have been a day of celebration for Georgia & the Democrats in Congress, winning both the Senate runoff races. It should have been a day to give people in Florida a wake-up call - the State set a record day for COVID cases yesterday, but then today's number of 19,816 new cases leaves yesterday's number in the dust. Instead we have 1 person shot & killed, at least 3 or 4 others dead at the scene (from??). Trump confirmed he is out for himself only, the Country be d*mned. The GOP is reaching the point of no-return. 

I am looking forward to January 20th.

One of the deaths was from high blood pressure so likely heart attack. It was posted on twitter by the guys family who claimed he was a peaceful trump supporter. Despite his social media history which says something different. The woman shot was a vet from CA, hopefully giving her life for someone like trump was worth it.

Sure sounds like they knew it was coming, which is NOT surprising at all. Someone needs to look into who funded this.
