"Kushner owns lots of Baltimore-area apartments. Some are infested with mice.
In a now-viral tweetstorm on Saturday, President Trump characterized Rep. Elijah E. Cummings’s Baltimore-based congressional district as a “rodent infested mess” where “no human” would want to live.
His criticism rang with a particular irony in Baltimore County, where presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner owns more than a dozen apartment complexes that have been cited for hundreds of code violations and, critics say, provide substandard housing to lower-income tenants....In an investigation by the New York Times and Pro Publica published earlier that year, tenants of Kushner properties reported mouse infestations, mold problems and maggots. "
Maybe wealthy slumlords should step up, or shut up that would work too.
I completed an online course from John Hopkins. It was excellent. Psychological First Aid. I think it will come in useful when dealing with the disaster of trump presidency.
Love the use of scintilla - Not a speck or trace of integrity possessed by trump. I will be using this word very actively.

This forum format has so many ridiculous errors. I have not been able to post because the pop up keeps saying correct the highlighted errors. Please try again later.
Does anyone see highlighted areas in this post?
I often get that error message too or others, especially if using copy/paste of articles. The highlighted area is a message in bright red at the tp of my message. I just click the reply button a second time and it usually corrects itself and posts without me making any change. Not sure if it is just luck but worth a try :)
I have a lot of trouble on this forum. I am grateful to you for posting so I can at least read along. Thanks!
Whoot, it worked! Too bad I have nothing intelligent to say.
I had to copy my post then refresh the page after 6 attempts to post. Now it seems that at this time each evening I receive the red failed authentification banner. It takes way more time than it should to post in these forums. The old forum was so much easier to navigate. None of these fluff stuff style postings that confuse and annoy everyone.
Posting to see if this is working
DNI Dan Coats to be replaced by John Ratcliffe.
Just a refresher -
I expected Dan Coats to be kicked out as he constantly contradicted trump on his statements and was more for the security of Americans. radcliffe is a trumper, someone you don't want in a high security position.

It is about 8:30 in the morning. These are Trump's Tweets so far:
"Good luck with the book George, should do well!" (Referencing Papadopoulous, the guy he never knew)
"I have known Al for 25 years. Went to fights with him & Don King, always got along well. He “loved Trump!” He would ask me for favors often. Al is a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score. Just doing his thing. Must have intimidated Comcast/NBC. Hates Whites & Cops!" (Re. Al Sharpton's trip to Baltimore)
"Baltimore, under the leadership of Elijah Cummings, has the worst Crime Statistics in the Nation. 25 years of all talk, no action! So tired of listening to the same old Bull...Next, Reverend Al will show up to complain & protest. Nothing will get done for the people in need. Sad!" (See previous post on Kushner's apartments as a possible issue)
"If the Democrats are going to defend the Radical Left “Squad” and King Elijah’s Baltimore Fail, it will be a long road to 2020. The good news for the Dems is that they have the Fake News Media in their pocket!" (Ah yes, must be inclusive when berating people)
"Al Sharpton would always ask me to go to his events. He would say, “it’s a personal favor to me.” Seldom, but sometimes, I would go. It was fine. He came to my office in T.T. during the presidential campaign to apologize for the way he was talking about me. Just a conman at work!" (Apparently he's not going to let his train of thought wander)
"The E.U. and China will further lower interest rates and pump money into their systems, making it much easier for their manufacturers to sell product. In the meantime, and with very low inflation, our Fed does nothing - and probably will do very little by comparison. Too bad!" (Here we go again on the Fed. In the meantime farmers can now begin applying for federal aid $$ due to slow sales due to tariffs)
Pause for just a sec - are any of these tweets positive in nature(?) Do any offer even a glimmer of willingness to work with anyone, on any issue(?) Or do they appear very Un-POTUS like(?) Am really trying not to get so disgusted that I throw my hands up in the air in dispair, but seriously, if Pres. Obama had tweeted even one of these while in office, the GOP would have jumped all over him. Instead his Admin, officials, aides etc. & the GOP are out there making excuses, or simply saying he just may not have "said it right". As Trump's tweeted "SAD".
He likes to play the victim, that is all his tweets say. Plus that he is scared.

"New Documents Show Corporate and Foreign Interests Seek to Influence U.S. Nuclear Policy
Washington, D.C. (July 29, 2019)—Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, issued a second interim staff report in the Committee’s investigation into efforts to transfer U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia.
Chairman Cummings issued the following statement:
“Today’s report reveals new and extensive evidence that corroborates Committee whistleblowers and exposes how corporate and foreign interests are using their unique access to advocate for the transfer of U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia. The American people deserve to know the facts about whether the White House is willing to place the potential profits of the President’s personal friends above the national security of the American people and the universal objective of preventing the spread of nuclear weapons.”....
The Committee’s second interim report is based on more than 60,000 pages of new documents produced to the Committee in response to requests that Chairman Cummings made to a host of outside companies about their involvement with plans to transfer U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia...."
Worth reading the full thing. Anyone think plans to transfer U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia is a good idea or at least not worth investigating. Seems trump might be working for the Saudis as well as putin. So much for America first, more like who ever has the most to offer trump the failed business 'man'.
Rep. Elijah E. Cummings is not afraid to call out trumps crap and how corrupt he is, both at the detention centre conditions and in this case. To a racist like trump it is a bonus that he gets to display his bigotry at the same time as his sad attempt at diverting.
trump is scared, he knows his con is about to go bust. By now he likely heard Mueller state that could be prosecuted for obstruction of justice crimes after he leaves office.
I will expect CBC or the National to bring up why a Canadian company was involved in this. I don't like shady practices by any company no matter where they are located.
Officials from IP3 International “had unprecedented access to the highest levels of the Trump Administration,” including meeting directly with Trump, as well as the president’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, former chief economic adviser Gary Cohn, and six cabinet secretaries. All are mentioned in emails.
In emails to other industry officials, IP3 called the Gold Standard an “obstacle” to be overcome, and industry executives reported that IP3 complained the Gold Standard was a “total roadblock” that “killed our leverage,”
The names are all there - Gary Cohn agreed to signal support to PIF that the acquisition of Westinghouse by minority investment by KSA and US majority ownership would be supported
Kushner given briefing, he was going to engage Tillerson, General Keane talks to General Mattis
Flynn received email about launching the Marshall Plan (1947) in Saudi Arabia
the Marshall Plan is an initiative that allows the US to give money in economic assistance to rebuild economies. Created in 1947 to help the rebuilding of Western European economies after WWII
If the Saudis could invest billions into the US infrastructure, they wouldn't fit the definition of a country needing economic assistance.

I have not posted here in quite a while, glad to see the discussion is still alive. Found the ability to search for teams disappeared, I have to agree with the above the new forum format is the least to be desired, IMHO it was a way of not trampling on freedom of speech that was front and center and in the process burying it.
One good thing with this setup there is those like-minded no longer have to argue over the fundamental principles of what is common knowledge of right and wrong with the plus of the lack of an amoral mentality chiming in on every issue
I have noticed the deflection of the trumpers is limited to certain subjects. It is quite interesting to follow internet forums.
As soon as someone posts a comment that challenges trump, out comes the deflectors. It is never the topic being discussed, but deflection of another subject. Instead of Baltimore mice, we now read how awful Baltimore's crime is. Baltimore renters have a class action suit against kushner due to slum lord management and trumpers deflect to crime.
For those who live in Baltimore. I have seen photos of your city and it is similar to my city & Old downtown Vancouver. Any city that has water access will always have vermin problems. The ships carry these rodents as undocumented immigrants through the world. Your city can't be that bad because the republican retreat is happening in your city in September.
trump restaurants have a vermin problem, the health inspector in 2018 cited his restaurant for the level "of concern" due to the infestation. I did tweet trump asking him if he has solved his vermin problem because as a health professional, bacteria & disease spread by mice & rat feces is a very serious health issue.
trump having bedbug infestation at his hotels would not be something to be proud of either, considering how much he charges per night.
I find that going to George Conway's Twitter feed tells you all that went on. Journalists and lawyers recap the highlights very intelligently.
trump has already started his attacks on Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple, so yes his statement to tax French wines is moronic.
When trump says that he prefers American wine, he means trump wine, which according to wine specialists is similar to Welch's grape juice with a bit of alcohol thrown in. Very similar to what is called plonk in Britain.
"Senator Ted Cruz is pressuring Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to quickly deliver a tax cut to investors by indexing capital gains to inflation, a move that he said would encourage savings, investment and innovation.
Cruz, along with 20 other Senate Republicans, are sending a letter to Mnuchin on Monday urging him to index the tax on gains made from real estate, stocks or bonds so investors would pay less when selling an asset than they would under existing law.
Current “treatment punishes taxpayers for the mere existence of inflation and is inherently unfair,” the letter said. “Other tax provisions such as individual tax brackets are rightly adjusted for inflation annually. Capital gains ought to receive the same treatment.”
Cruz and the other GOP senators argue that Mnuchin has authority to make the change through regulation without involving Congress, though previous administrations have concluded that can’t be done. The effort comes as President Donald Trump is looking for issues to win favor with voters and donors during his 2020 re-election campaign. Democrats in the House and Republicans in the Senate are unlikely to agree on any tax cut legislation in the coming months.
Mnuchin, so far, has been hesitant to making the change, which Trump’s other top economic advisers support. National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow has championed the idea for years......"
From "Bloomberg". This got me to thinking about Rand Paul's issue with the 9/11 Funding Bill & Congress not amending something in the budget to make up for the extra future expenses. And while I can see Trump's logic on donors being happy, how many ordinary folks (you know, voters) are going to get excited about this(?) What percentage of households actually live paycheck to paycheck & don't even have @ $500.00 in savings to cover a minor unexpected expense, much less a major emergency expense(?)
Am seriously thinking of having an extra glass of wine this evening.
This is not what the voters are concerned about. If republicans think that those who voted for trump & them in 2020 will vote them in again, may be in for a huge awakening. trump and the republicans are their own worst enemy.
Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andy Beshear won an endorsement Monday from a longtime Republican state lawmaker who criticized GOP Gov. Matt Bevin for “running around the state insulting” people — including teachers in his own family.
Trump in recent days, however, has expressed to advisers on his reelection team that he believes his broadsides against the minority Democrats will help excite his core supporters. They may excite 20,000 white nationalist supporters, but not all republican voters.
“the backlash from the president’s racist rhetoric is likely to offset any electoral benefit from Trump’s base.” the study found that a majority of Americans thought Trump’s tweets targeting the four freshmen congresswomen were “un-American”; three-fourths of women polled said the tweets were offensive, and independents, by more than a 2-1 margin, said the tweets were “un-American.”
Women voters views of trump:
"I just don't like the way he talks about other people,"
"It was mainly when he got into office when my opinion started changing," said West, 26. "Just the way he treats people." Now, she's primed to vote against him.
But interviews with women reveal a clear discomfort with Trump's character.
It emerged again and again in the AP's interviews and was a consistent objection cited by women across the political spectrum.
"I did not think it was going to be as bad as it is — definitely narcissism and sexism, but I did not think it was going to be as bad as it is," "I am just ashamed to be an American right now."
"To be honest, there are certain things that — he's a businessman — so I understand the reasons behind them. But all of the disrespect and lies and stuff like that, it's just too much for me."
Such women are an electoral threat to the president in large part because women outnumber and outvote men.
Overall, 64 percent of women voters oppose the separation practice at the border.
trump questions the intelligence and mental state of a woman of color, before dismissing her as a rude, unpatriotic figure who deserves harsh scrutiny and admonishment. Many women subjected to these attacks report receiving death threats soon afterward.
25 percent of the population are women of colour in key swing states
In the real world, his approval rating among black Americans is 13%. Polling finds that 80 percent of black people think he’s racist.
Rather than Americans taking our meds perhaps trump should come up with an affordable prescription plan of their own. Passing the buck is not going to solve America's high prescription costs. Hitting back at the large pharma companies who limit the supply to up their profits is what trump should be doing.
Here in Victoria we have had to deal with no supplies of heart, blood pressure, diabetic etc medications due to American seniors arriving on regularly scheduled medication bus tours. When you have Canadian patients that require these medications on a regular basis and legitimate pharmacies are calling throughout BC and cannot find any, we got the federal govt. to act. The Canada Health System has to ensure that Canadians are taken care of first before medications can be sold to non Canadians.
Telling your patient that they cannot have nitro because it was unavailable due to shortages, is not something that helps a person's hear health. Panic sets in & now there are extra concerns.
Concern over U.S. legislation that allows Americans to import cheaper medicines from Canada has prompted more than a dozen organizations to urge the federal government to safeguard the Canadian drug supply.
In a letter this week, the 15 groups representing patients, health professionals, hospitals, and pharmacists warn Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor of the potential for increasing drug shortages.
"The Canadian medicine supply is not sufficient to support both Canadian and U.S. consumers," the letter states. "The supply simply does not, and will not, exist within Canada to meet such demands."
"Canada has one of the most stringent drug approval systems in the world, which is focused on the quality and safety of products destined for the Canadian market.
"Health Canada is not, however, responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of prescription drugs exported to the U.S."
I think the practice of allowing doctor's to hold dual licences should be stopped. Allowing Canadian doctors to prescribe Americans drugs without having to see them is unsafe and unfair to Canada's healthcare system.
Did the toddler think to ask Canada before announcing this. Interesting that our healthcare system isn't seen as good enough for US citizens (no problem, come up with a better option) yet he wants to benefit from it. Our drug prices are lower because they are negotiated. An unlimited supply is NOT negotiated, meaning we can not supply a population ten times our size. Our taxes help pay for our healthcare and subsidizing trumps idea, while he brags about his great economy, has to be one of his bad jokes.
I am unsure of the reason but I just rationed a drug I take for five weeks after my pharmacist warned me of a shortage, I normally take eight pills a day and had to go down to two. Not a life saving drug but it was physically challenging. I got a sense for a short time of what some face without access to meds and didn't like it. I can't imagine the stress/fear if it was a life saving med like insulin.
Time for trump to stand up to pharma instead of trying to put a bandaid on it. Why can't drug prices be negotiated in the US, because politicians are profiting off not doing it.
"American farmer: Trump 'took away all of our markets'
The White House recently announced that it would be providing an additional $16 billion in aid to American farmers affected by the trade war between the U.S. and China.
But the problem for American farmers has becomes bigger than something a bailout can fix.
“This trade thing is what’s brought on by the president and it’s really frustrating because he took away all of our markets,” Bob Nuylen, a farmer from North Dakota who grows spring wheat and sunflowers, told Yahoo Finance. “We live in an area where we’re kind of in the middle of nowhere. It costs us a lot of money — over $1 a bushel to get our grain to markets.”
Since trade tensions began in 2018, farmers have faced major financial challenges, since China was once a major U.S. agriculture buyer.
And losing customers has become a major issue. Soybean farmers have been dealing with this, as China has turned to other countries like Brazil for soybeans. Nuylen said this is also happening for wheat farmers, as China has begun importing wheat from Russian regions.
“All these countries went to different countries to get their grain,” Nuylen said. “How are we going to get the relations back with them to buy our grain again and be our customers?”...
This isn’t the first time that the USDA has doled out aid to struggling farmers. The Trump administration pledged two installments of a farmer bailout program. The first round of payments totaling $4.7 billion was paid in September 2018, while the second round was distributed in December. By February 2019, the total aid payments reached $7.7 billion.....
He added: “We kind of get a bad picture that we’re all big money and drive all this big equipment. In reality … these are record low incomes for farmers in the last couple of years. It’s getting tough out there. We’re going to start seeing a lot of suicide and a lot of farmers going out of business. So, that’s not a good thing.”
The concern is that farmers may reach a breaking point as things drag on.
“It’s going to be a scary situation if it doesn’t turn around pretty soon,” Nuylen said."

trumplican socialism, what they constantly accuse the Dems of. No doubt excuses will be made.
