The photos are amazing. ivanka seems to be looking more and more like a Barbie doll. I noticed that she & trump both use the same hair dye.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) tweeted on Sunday that he "would like to hear Ivanka Trump's explanation about this video," before noting that she has blocked him on the social media platform.

As the cameras flashed & Pompeo shuffled around, it took the first daughter a moment to realize he was trying to slide in. She eventually moved aside to let the secretary of state take his place between her and the South Korean first lady

The highest-ranking North Korean defector in decades says Kim Jong UN likes President Trump because he’s not “moral,” and doesn't judge."All previous US presidents so far have been very moral and they paid great attention on the America’s moral image,"

nepotism Barbie - grifter Barbie - complicit Barbie - take your pick, I've seen all three.

She pinned a tweet basically saying she was invited to speak by PM Abe and she seems to actually think it was because she had something of substance to offer on 'empowering women globally'. Assuming she isn't lying like trump, does she not know why she might be invited. Yes, she is clueless like her daddy.

Want to empower women, don't control their reproductive choices, at home and around the world. Start there. Next ask your daddy to not separate moms from their babies and lock them in cages. Nothing says empowerment like no human rights abuses in a developed country. Do better.

"The Trump administration said Tuesday that it will not ask about citizenship status on the 2020 census, backing off a contentious effort to reinstate the question over objections from opponents who successfully argued to the Supreme Court that it would disenfranchise minority groups.

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who originally directed the Census Bureau to add the question, said in a statement that he was moving ahead with printing the 2020 census despite his disagreement with the court's ruling last week...."

So the Supreme Court blocking the census question is nothing to trump. I can't wait for the alternative reasoning trump has as his second explanation.

It could try the truth & say that we need to cheat to win in the 2020 election.

trump can keep harping on the good economy, but voters do not consider this the primary issue of the election. They are more concerned about trump's behavior, his lack of morals and how he implements his policies.

Mothers are especially angered at the way he is treating migrant children.  Sending only women to a women's empowerment conference negates the reason why it is necessary to have men at these conferences. Women understand the issues. Getting men to understand them is the problem.

Can see it now, Trump going forward in his "quest" to add the citizenship question. If a different out-come, well so what, spend even more dollars to reprint the census, mail it out late, have the results, correct or not, come in late...what could that delay or do(?).

Then he's all wrapped up in his July 4th spectacle. Oh but at least he's reassured everyone the cost is so well worth it.

And then, to top it all off, one of his tweets this morning:

"Congratulations to Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher, his wonderful wife Andrea, and his entire family. You have been through much together. Glad I could help!"

Yup, he's proud that his previous tweets & comments at rallies may have influenced justice. But, with Trump guess this is simply another OMG moment.

One trumper on his twitter account suggested that he send the forms out with the question on it and apologize later.  Obviously she doesn't get trump. He never apologizes, just blames others for his actions.

In his mind trump believes he deserves a military parade, a Trooping of the Colours parade and a parade praising a dictator.

He has turned Independence Day into Victory Day like Russia's Red Square Military Parade. trump has turned July 4th into a partisan parade all about him.

Isn't July 4th, the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776.

Americans welcome to your new occupied territory. How much is this going to cost taxpayers? Add that to the cost of his golf trips, his family vacations & Americans will have to see a rise in their taxes. Not the 1%, of course, as that will mean that the trumps couldn't benefit.

George Conway shared this tip in response to another tweeter, who suggested prominent Democrats “should be poking” at Trump’s insecurities “every single day.”

"As I’ve said previously, the opposing nominee’s campaign should consult with a team of psychologists and psychiatrists to figure out how to do precisely this. It shouldn’t be too hard to trigger the final meltdown"

Quite correct. trump has a lot of insecurities. He needs constant praise, or he lashes out. Hence the military parade. It is not about America, it is about his ability to show the world that he can leave a legacy like the other leaders that he idolizes.

Unfortunately, he doesn't take into account, how the lives of the citizens are impacted every day. Starvation in NK, attacks on free speech, religion & gay rights in Russia. No country that has a despot has happy & healthy citizens.

For those who live in Florida or enjoy visiting our State:

"In May, Florida Gulf Coast marine scientist Dr. Mike Parsons warned that blooms of toxic algae would erupt in Florida waters this summer. Now researchers are finding toxic blooms in waterways ranging from the Tampa Bay region through South Florida.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protections is currently monitoring a toxic bloom in Lake Okeechobee near the Port Mayaca Dam. Samples of water in this area just tested as three times to toxic to touch.

Last week, another bloom in Lake Okeechobee near the West Palm Beach canal tested seven times too toxic to touch.

While the blooms are commonly called ‘blue green algae,' they are technically cyanobacteria that emit some of the world's most powerful natural toxins. The cyanotoxins in the blooms emit the liver toxin Microcystin (which scientists have linked to human liver disease), and BMAA (which scientists have correlated to neurological disease).

The blooms are fed by man-made pollution, including leaking septic tanks and fertilizer runoff.

Meanwhile, as blooms sprout across the state, Congressman Vern Buchanan raised concerns about toxic algae that is turning up in Manatee County's Robinson Preserve, and the Manatee River and canals.

"The problems at the Robinson Preserve further demonstrate that Florida continues to grapple with algae booms," said Rep. Buchanan. "It is a dangerous plague on our community's economy, environment, and way of life. That's why it's so important to keep fighting to help combat algae blooms and research long-term impacts on human health."

Dr. Parsons serves on Florida's newly created toxic algae task force. He said university scientists are not testing as much as they would like due to funding constraints.

"One unfortunate circumstance is we almost have to wait for the next blooms so we can initiate the next level of studies and a lot of that is related to funding," he said."

There are warnings to Not Eat Any Fish caught in the Lake. Sport Fishing & the enjoyment of the Lake & surrounding natural & man-made attractions is big business in this area. Never mind all the people who live in the area & could be affected health-wise.

The State of Florida, imo, stuck its' head in the sand for too long & it is now seemingly grasping at straws on how to handle this very serious situation. Sadly Florida not alone with algae & red-tide problems. But Big Business of such importance (in this part of Florida as well as all over the Country) that Fla. Politicians (GOP majority in State House & Senate plus Rep. Governor) don't have the nerve to tell them to clean up their act, not just for future generations but for the very immediate future - like a minute from now!

But hey, come visit the Sunshine State & remember, don't ask where the fresh fish was caught!

From CNN: "In the Wednesday hearing, another Justice Department attorney told the judge that the administration has instructed printing to move forward without the citizenship question, but also acknowledged the situation is fluid.
The attorney, Joshua Gardner, acknowledged he was now backing away from his statements made only a day earlier, when he suggested that a final decision had been made.
Gardner said that he had "confirmed that the Census Bureau is continuing with the process of printing the questionnaire without a citizenship question, and that process has not stopped," but he said the President's tweet Wednesday morning could change the government's ultimate position.
"The tweet this morning was the first I had heard of the President's position on this issue, just like the plaintiffs and your honor," Gardener told the judge.
"I do not have a deeper understanding of what that means at this juncture other than what the President has tweeted," he said, adding, "I am doing my absolute best to figure out what is going on."
The plaintiffs challenging the question in the Maryland court were highly critical of the government's change in position.
"This administration's flagrant disregard of court orders is appalling, and will result in the same kind of misinformation that leads our communities to be reluctant to participate in the Census, at a time when the Census Bureau should be actively encouraging everyone's full participation," said Denise Hulett, the lead counsel in the case for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

When the government asked for an extension until Monday, the judge refused and questioned whether the Justice Department was speaking for the President.
"If you were Facebook and an attorney for Facebook told me one thing, and then I read a press release from Mark Zuckerberg telling me something else, I would be demanding that Mark Zuckerberg appear in court with you the next time because I would be saying I don't think you speak for your client anymore,"Hazel said.

After the whip lashing, Gardner told the judge he'd been with the Justice Department for 16 years "through multiple administrations" and that he had "always endeavored to be as candid as possible with the court."

Well, guess the Census issue is not yet put to bed. That we have a POTUS, with enablers on staff, who can't even get a Census up & running smoothly, are we really expected to believe they can do anything with NK or Trade or Iran or Immigration or National Debt or Health Care or Infrastructure or........

@finickypatternshop - Flesh-eating bacteria is becoming more of an issue here in the State. My motto is to now stay as far away from any body of water as possible. Scary thing though, often the news (maybe it's the State?) does not report where the person was/where they "picked up" the bacteria. I definitely agree that rising temps probably the key ingredient & how it affects Everything should be more of a concern now than it is. Or suddenly Florida could wake up to being labeled a place absolutely no wants to, or possibly even should, visit or even live in.

This is appalling and very disturbing that those who are supposed to defend the borders & those who took the oath to serve & protect would act in a dispicable way. They obviously knew it was wrong because they made their Facebook groups private.

Members of a secret Facebook group for current and former Border Patrol agents joked about the deaths of migrants, discussed throwing burritos at Latino members of Congress visiting a detention facility in Texas on Monday and posted a vulgar illustration depicting Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez engaged in oral sex with a detained migrant, according to screenshots of their postings.

In one exchange, group members responded with indifference and wisecracks to the post of a news story about a 16-year-old Guatemalan migrant who died in May while in custody at a Border Patrol station in Weslaco, Texas. One member posted a GIF of Elmo with the quote, “Oh well.” Another responded with an image and the words “If he dies, he dies.”

ProPublica received images of several recent discussions in the 10-15 Facebook group and was able to link the participants in those online conversations to apparently legitimate Facebook profiles belonging to Border Patrol agents, including a supervisor based in El Paso, Texas, and an agent in Eagle Pass, Texas

ProPublica contacted three spokespeople for CBP in regard to the Facebook group and provided the names of three agents who appear to have participated in the online chats. CBP hasn’t yet responded.

Hundreds of active-duty and retired law enforcement officers from across the United States are members of Confederate, anti-Islam, misogynistic or anti-government militia groups on Facebook, a Reveal investigation has found.

These cops have worked at every level of American law enforcement, from tiny, rural sheriff’s departments to the largest agencies in the country, such as the Los Angeles and New York police departments.
The groups cover a range of extremist ideologies. Some trade in anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant memes. Some are openly Islamophobic. And almost 150 of the officers we found are involved with violent anti-government groups such as the Oath Keepers and Three Percenters.

A Facebook page called Chicago Code Blue attracted attention for inflammatory comments— such as “Every Thug Deserves a Slug” — after an officer was found guilty in the death of Laquan McDonald.

"This is the kind of behavior that confirms the worst suspicions on the part of communities about the police,"

Philadelphia Officer Christian Fenico, in a post about refugees, he wrote, “Let them starve to death. I hate every last one of them.”

Also in Philadelphia, Officer Robert Oakes appeared to belittle domestic abuse, writing, “Oh baby, oh baby, PLEAsE DONT!!!!! stop!!!!! resisting!!!!!” and “no means yes!!!!! They just don’t know it….”

At least 64 of the Philadelphia officers have leadership roles, serving as corporals, sergeants, lieutenants, captains, or inspectors

They even ridicule new members of the police force for being community minded. Posts are disgusting. I can now see why there is a problem with minorities trusting police.  Graphic meme's are posted of how they would handle protesters.

A large trump cult following and racist bias towards the Obama's and other minorities.

Buzzfeed in collaboration with Injustice Watch.

The Plain View Project is a database of public Facebook posts and comments made by current and former police officers from several jurisdictions across the United States. We present these posts and comments because we believe that they could undermine public trust and confidence in our police. In our view, people who are subject to decisions made by law enforcement may fairly question whether these online statements about race, religion, ethnicity and the acceptability of violent policing—among other topics—inform officers’ on-the-job behaviors and choices.

The Plain View Project gives names, rank & salaries of these scumbags. These bottom feeders give all honourable law enforcement officers & Border Agency personnel a bad name.

I totally agree with publicly shaming these ones.

More data

One guard at the Angola prison in Louisiana, was a member of 56 extremist groups, including 45 Confederate groups and one called “BAN THE NAACP.”

Public documents that showed the officers identified via Facebook also had been involved in real-life instances of alleged racism or other misconduct.

We confirmed that almost 400 users were indeed either currently employed as police officers, sheriffs or prison guards or had once worked in law enforcement.

We then asked to join the closed extremist groups. he group “Stop Radical Islam in America,” for example, asks, “Why do you personally think Islam should be banned in America?” At least 12 current and former police officers were members of that group.

“Confederate Brothers & Sisters,” which counts at least 25 current and former cops as members, explicitly asks, “This group is sometimes racist does this bother you?” Inside that group, we found several cops and ex-cops posting racist comments.

Inside the closed Facebook groups to which we gained access, transparently racist, misogynistic and homophobic content is on full display. We catalogued more than 120 active and retired officers posting in these groups or commenting in support of others.

In one 48-hour period, One user posted a link to a piece about how the skins of African slaves were once turned into jackets. It garnered 34 comments and 103 emoticon responses in 24 hours. Almost all of the people reacting to the post gave it the “haha” response. “10/10 would wear, ” a commenter said

Another post mocked the removal of a citizenship question from the 2020 census, posting the conspiracy theory that an international group of Jews is masterminding the immigration of Latinos into the United States. “When are we going to show everyone what the Jewish cabal is doing?” commented one member.

Valerie Van Brocklin, a former federal prosecutor who trains police departments and other public employees on social media use, said police officers across the country have been fired or suspended for making off-color jokes or leaving problematic comments under newspaper articles.

“I ask them, ‘Would you, as a cop, in your uniform, put that on a sandwich board and walk up and down the streets of your town? ’ ” Van Brocklin said. “And they’ll say, ‘No, because I could be fired for that.’ Well, instead of putting it on a sandwich board, you put it up for the whole world to see, so why would you think it’s protected?”

Several officers contacted for this story countered that they have a First Amendment right to opine on social media, even if those opinions are unpopular or offensive to some people.

However, while civilians enjoy First Amendment protection from government censorship or harassment, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that public agencies such as police departments may penalize their employees for speech and behavior in certain cases.

One excuse from an officer on why he posts conspiracy theories and anti-Islam posts on his personal Facebook wall. He also has posted inside a Confederate group.“Think about this, majority of crimes are committed by minorities (black, hispanic, etc) per FBI statistics yet I don’t ‘prey’ on any particular one.” (According to the latest FBI Uniform Crime Reporting statistics, 68.9 percent of arrestees in 2017 were white.

trump's impeachment number exceeds what Gallup found using a similar question for Bill Clinton throughout the Monica Lewinsky controversy, as well as for Richard Nixon at the beginning of the Watergate controversy.

trump's lowest approval marks were on his stewardship of foreign affairs (42%) and administering the government (43%).

His photo op with NK didn't do anything for his approval rating - Across all polls, job approval is still in the low 40's.

$2.5 million in entrance and recreation fees intended to go toward improving national parks will instead be spent on the July 4 event.

Some of those who have taken the suggestion to confront trump with all his insecurities.

Vote Vets. They are distributing 6,000 of these USS John McCain shirts. And in an effort to I think trigger President Trump, upset him, given the fact that the president is not a particular fan of the late senator.

"Today, we learned the news that Donald Trump is turning the national 4th of July celebration into a 2020 campaign event, complete with a ticketed VIP section for friends and supporters," VoteVets said in an email Sunday. "That's not what America is about."

We're going to have protest floats flying overhead, the baby Trump float. Code Pink, got approval from the National Park Service to have the balloon present between 4 a.m. and 9 p.m. ET on July 4 on a section of the National Mall near the Washington Monument.

A fascinating contrast tomorrow with all of the Democrats out on the trail doing the usual Fourth of July thing, where it's all about interacting at a one-on-one level with Americans.

Trending on twitter #BoycottTrump4thOfJuly
Dear @GOP:
Can you imagine if Obama spent all this money on a needless fascist military display, funneled money from the Parks Department to cover it, & then used it as a way to give kickbacks to the DNC?
Of course you can't. Your head would explode.

Many are upset that money is being spent on a trump party when Investigators for the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General produced a report Tuesday that showed images of dangerous overcrowding and unhygienic conditions with some migrants banging on plexiglass and pleading for help.

Isn't this just another campaign rally for trump? He can't let a day go by without him saying something negative. It will be that the Democrats didn't consider Americans important enough not to protest Salute to America.

I love the spin given out by limbaugh. If you don't support trump's military parade, then you aren't a patriotic American.

To all those Americans who believe in

  • all men are equal under God
  • that children should not be kept in concentration camps

Looks like trump does not understand what the American people actually care about.

trump has turned into an angry despot. Imagine a grown man threatening the migrants held in deploration conditions due to his immigration policies. I am pretty sure that they don't have internet, since soccer balls, toothbrushes & soap were taken away.

George Conway left the republican party in March 2018. According to the form he posted yesterday, after Amash declared that he was leaving the party. He is now unaffiliated.

trump must have angered God, as the heavens peed on his parade. Once again the world is laughing at trump. Blaming the teleprompter for not working, but although he said that he knew the speech very well, he tanked.

Excuse - "Because without teleprompter, it's hard to remember that there were not airports in June of 1776?" Really? No way that he can say he is a stable genius.

I loved his tweet about Aircraft One - A nod to putin, as apparently that is what putin calls his official presidential plane. Do trumpers still think that he is not the tool of putin? Amazing that he could remember that name, but failed to recognize that airports didn't exist in 1776.

An important perspective on Trump’s tank display from a person in the US military : "The parade of tanks became a static display of 2 Abrams put in place via flatbed trucks. You have no idea how much pushback was required to achieve this change. It is basically the Pentagon telling the president Hell No, when they can't really tell him hell no. So when you see those 2 tanks sitting there remember someone, probably several someones, risked their careers to prevent tanks from rolling down the streets of DC. The symbolism of this should not be underestimated."

From Local Tampa, FL NBC News:

"For going on 19 years the VA stuck by its conviction that only military personnel who served on the ground in Vietnam were exposed to the hazardous herbicide Agent Orange.

That flawed determination excluded 90,000 Blue Water Navy veterans, like Mike Kvintus from eligibility for VA disability and health care benefits.

A federal court, earlier this year, decided those sailors who served offshore are indeed eligible. Congress and the president underscored the decision by passing a bill restoring to those veterans the access stripped away by the VA.

VA Secretary Robert Wilkie ordered stays on all claims decisions relating to Blue Water Navy veterans.

“The VA is dedicated to ensuring that all Veterans receive the benefits they have earned,” Wilkie stated in a press release. “We are working to ensure that we have the proper resources in place to meet the needs of our Blue Water Navy Veteran community and minimize the impact on all Veterans filing for disability compensation.”

Military Veterans Advocacy Executive Director John Wells has fought for years to restore these benefits. Wells opposed the bill Congress passed because he felt the language inserted ambiguity into the process and it provided Wilkie the authority to stay the claims decisions.

Wells is critical of veterans service organizations like the VFW and others that supported the legislation.

“This was an opportunity for Mark Takano the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee and the large veterans service organizations to step out in front of the camera, preen a little bit and say, ‘ Hey we’ve done something,’ well they did nothing,” Wells explained.

Wells believes Wilkie not only overstepped his authority, but that he stomped on the toes of a decision by a federal judge.

“The plan is to give him a couple of weeks to either rescind or clarify his stay, and if he doesn’t do it, the plan is to go back to court,” Wells said."

Sorry to be repeating my disgust on this topic, but as someone who lost a loved one to the affects of Agent Orange, can't help it.

I have no idea if Wells is correct in his assessment &/or he's possibly more cynical than I am. But in the end, Congress passed a Bill, Trump signed it (Judge had previously ruled) & yet Wilkie appears to be delaying the process. Why doesn't Trump use an Executive Order to get this going - after all he keeps repeating he loves the military & he apparently has no aversion to using EO's to get his way. Or is he just using Wilkie to avoid spending the bucks. And after all, as with many of Trump's appointees, Wilkie is disposable.

Wearing white in the rain is similar to the effect you get while engaging in a wet t-shirt contest.  I cannot imagine Michelle Obama doing that. She has class.

"melania's 2 kidneys seem to be working well. I see this comment on many forums about melania's so called kidney operation.

The right wingers were outraged when nude photos of melania were posted.

Where we these people when Michelle Obama was depicted as a slave on a magazine cover, when she was called a "baby mama" in 2008, her 16th year of marriage; she took constant jabs about her weight, the size of her bum, her bare shoulders and her arms; and she had a cartoon on the cover of the New Yorker depicting her as an Afroed, militant, gun-toting domestic terrorist.

All through her tenure as First Lady she showed grace & class similar to all previous First Ladies.

Now US has a topless model as their first lady, touting Be Best, while her husband's policies are killing children & families.

As someone who works with adults who have mental health issues due to trauma in their childhood, I am crying as I post this. How inhuman the repubs and their conservative backers have become. I will not be visiting the US until the criminal in the WH is gone. I used to travel to the US regularly, but now my friends will have to come to Canada to visit me.

Inside the Border Patrol warehouse on Ursula Avenue, Dolly Lucio Sevier saw a baby who’d been fed from the same unwashed bottle for days; children showing signs of malnutrition and dehydration; and several kids who, in her medical opinion, were exhibiting clear evidence of psychological trauma.

She wasn’t permitted to enter the area where they were being held, many of them in cages, and find the sickest kids to examine. Instead, in a nearby room, she manually reviewed a 50-page printout of that day’s detainees, and highlighted the names of children with a 2019 birth date—the babies—before moving on to the toddlers.

When it was almost time to leave, Sevier asked to see a 3-year-old girl, and then two other children. But by that point, the friendly and accommodating Border Patrol agent assisting her earlier in the day had been replaced by a dour guard, wearing a surgical mask, who claimed that he couldn’t find the toddler.

“She’s having a bath,” Sevier recalled the guard as saying, a luxury one official told her is available only to babies removed from their guardians.

Finally, the guard returned with news. He had found the girls after all. “We located the bodies,” he said, in paramilitary slang. “I’ll bring them right in.” Bodies, not children.

As agents brought in the children she requested, Sevier said, the smell of sweat and soiled clothing filled the room. They had not been allowed to bathe or change since crossing the Rio Grande and turning themselves over to officials.

Two-thirds of the kids she examined had symptoms of respiratory infection. The guards wore surgical masks, but the detainees breathed the air unfiltered. As the children filed in, Sevier said she found evidence of sleep deprivation, dehydration, and malnutrition too.

At 5:53, the guard with the surgical mask brought in the 3-year-old Sevier had requested to see, holding her by the armpits, like a puppy. Thin and subdued, the girl was crying but didn’t turn away. “Underweight, fearful child in no acute distress,” Sevier wrote. “Only concern is severe trauma being suffered from being removed from primary caregiver.”
