Welcome back Nancy. Kat hugs to you. Hi Leslie. Taking my dog to the vet he is having problems with his foot. My other dog had a blood test and Lyme disease showed up so I need to find out what to do. My poor babies.

Not good news for my pup. He is going on in Tuesday to have a toe removed. They are pretty sure he has toe cancer. It is just a matter of it has spread. I am broken hearted. He is only 5. It has been a cheap day.

Sandy, I've never heard of toe cancer! I hope it hasn't spread! The good news is that pets can get used to new "normals" pretty easily. My neighbor's dog had his leg amputated and after about 2 weeks he seemed as if he didn't even miss it!

My dog was diagnosed with Lyme a few years ago and nothing ever came of it. It was a fluke test I guess. This is the same dog that in Feb 2017 (14 months ago) was diagnosed with a softball sized inoperable tumor in his liver. We cancelled vacation after vacation just in case he were to pass away, we didn't want out son to deal with it alone. He is still with us. Moving slower. But living like a king. We stopped worrying about what bad things we were feeding him and just let him have whatever he wants. Now he dines on hamburger, marshmallows, eats leftovers off a fork. It's ridiculous. But the fact is, this dog has amazed ALL of the doctors and he has his own timetable he is following.

Not all bad news is truly as bad as it seems at first, and hopefully both of your babies will have good news, the only bad news being the vet bills. But hey, they are your babies! Keep us posted!

Hi Jul. Glad you got your buyer all straightened out. I have one who ordered something 2 days ago and the minute I got home from mailing it and looked at my computer there was a message that she wanted to cancel the order.

In my vintage shop I don't accept cancellations, returns or refunds (IN WRITING), so I don't feel bad, but I would not be surprised if I don't take a hit on feedback.

By the way, can I get this shop (GiftsFromMomsAttic) added to the team? Anything I need to do? It's all vintage--everything from vintage quilts and oriental antiques to my childhood books.

Thanks Nancy. That gives me some hope. It is so funny that you said that about vacation. We are going to Florida in July and I asked my husband if we should cancel because my boys would have to deal with the situation if something happens. They said Allie will be fine that it just means she has had lyme at some point. Before we rescued her she was an outside dog and her owner was going to shoot her, so I imagine they didn't take very good care of her. I have been so consumed with Twinkie kind of forgot about the lyme.

Sandy, how old are your boys? We FINALLY after a year of cancelling vacations went to Vegas for a week for the Consumer Electronics Show with friends. I called my vet and asked if they could do a home euthanasia if necessary. They said no, BUT there are mobile vets that do and I just know it would have been easier for my son AND for the dog (he is 13) if it were to happen at home. I also set up TWO backup people who know both Brian (who is 33 and SHOULD be ABLE TO HANDLE IT....) and Apollo and would be happy to help him out. The issue for Brian would be lifting a 90 pound dog into and out of a car with one arm paralyzed.

But nothing happened and he is still going fine. Just set up loving backup who will be there to help the boys during and after and, of course, NOTHING will happen. But by the time July rolls around the repercussions of what the toe issue might be should be known and resolved

Lyme is crazy. Apollo tested positive ONCE and never again. I'm not even sure they gave him the antibiotics for it. There are so many false positives and false negatives in humans AND dogs.

I DETEST people who abuse dogs. My partner in this shop, Carol, just rescued her umpteenth coonhound. This one is the SWEETEST boy, but he was supposed to be a bear hunter and didn't have the temperament so the guy was going to shoot him. Every year her gets 3 coonhounds and sees which one (MAYBE) works out and gets rid of the others. He should be prevented from having dogs, having guns, having kids, having anything but a 6x8 foot cell.....

My boys are 21 & 23. I had a red bones soon hound once. She was a sweet girl. We will know more in about a week. Fingers and paws are crossed.

We had one of our friend's coonhounds once (hers had babies) and shye did not do well once we had our second baby, so we had to re-home her. Coonhounds are a funny breed. They are not always family friendly, but they are also not always hunting temperament. Our friends have had probably 15 coonhounds (sometimes 4 at a time) in the 40 years we have known them. They adore the breed and can't imagine life without them.

CONGRATS on hitting 1000 sales, Jul!! That's an unbelievable feat!! Are you still working full time too?

Yes. I am working full time... and I love my workplace and job.
I was so surprised when I saw the note from Etsy saying I reached 1000. I didn't realize I was even close. Most of my sales in the past year have been supply watches for $1.75.
My sales here have plummeted, especially this year! But, I am so happy to have a steady income with my teaching job.
I guess it is true that you get out what you put in (to the Etsy shop).

I have no idea what goes on with Etsy. This is my traditionally slowest time in both shops. My quilt shop has been dead, but I've had so much fun with the vintage shop that I've kind of ignored it to some extent. I have been busy making quilts for both grandkids. My grandson is 6 1/2 and one day he looked me in the eye and told me I had NEVER made him one....GEEZ the kid learned guilt directly from his dad! And then of course his sister wants a new one...so a year an a half later they are almost done.

But this vintage shop had been on fire for the last 6 weeks. I have no idea why. I think it's a vintage team I am active on. It is all games, but it leads DIRECTLY to sales, so I'm not complaining. And I really love the challenge of figuring out what things are worth and they have really surprised me.

At least Etsy is still fun for me.. I'm so glad you love your job, Jul. It is miserable to go to work every day in a job you hate. I've done it. Nothing beats being happy at work AND at home!

Well, if it's not in the shop, it can't sell, right?
So, I did inventory. I had about 72 items expire this week, according to Etsy - telling me what is coming up. Yep. I had over 150 expired items.
Thus, I have been renewing items that are "ready to ship" like crazy.

I have renewed 202 items in the month of April. It's a $40 investment... to be paid next month. So, I have about 30 days to make a good sale, right? hehe.

Just paid my Etsy Bill. I was waiting for my Visa Bill turn over - that is it is now a new month so my next statement won't be until May.

My granddaughter was sick again last week - fever and vomiting. Luckily only a 24 hour bug. However, she is off school again as her UTI came back. So it's back on medication for her. I hope she has her energy back on Saturday as her ballet class is working on their Recital routine and there are only about 6 classes left until the Performance at the beginning of June. It's so heartbreaking to see her sleeping so much and barely eating. :(

Yesterday was an expensive day. I registered Fiona for a two day Dance workshop on Victoria Day Weekend (Sat May 19 and Sun May 20). There's also a one week Dance Camp that I would like to register her for but have to wait until she does the workshop - it acts as her audition/assessment... she may not have enough experience to go.
I also had an appointment/consultation to have braces. It's something I was going to do when I retired. So I had my scans done and put down a deposit on Invisalign braces. First i need to have a special dental x-ray done - so I need to set that up before they can set to work making my first sets. (Invisalign braces are not metal but fit over your teeth - they have to be removed when you eat and for dental/oral health care. You change the brace "trays " every few weeks and go back to the dentist every 6 weeks or so. I hope I can tolerate them as they are very expensive. It's not just a cosmetic thing for me. My teeth overlap at the front and are shifting - it causes peridontal problems. Unfortunately my current medical insurance does not cover the braces. My previous insurance did....
I will have to get back here later. I am going out to lunch and am still in my nightie!
