Thanks Nora @TimeAndAgainFashions , it's so, so frightening! Some people in that thread (the 22k woman?) could absorb that hit- but those who can't? Until it is deposited into their payment account, not their bank account, on Tuesday, after the long weekend. Is that seen as income then at tax time next year? Probably the biggest error here yet.

I honestly think the site was HACKED.

And my heart goes out to all those effected.  Especially those who went to use their credit / debit cards and the purchase was DECLINED. Imaging their shock and embarassment!  

Oh, and I certainly hope that Etsy is NOT putting the $$ into the payment accounts!  It will take almost a WEEK to get access. The $$ should go directly back to whatever source the money was taken from.  Sheesh!

Wow!  This is horrific. The worst thing yet to happen on Etsy and there have been a lot throughout the years.  This is very scary and demands an explanation.  Unreal!

My hope is that they will fix it and there will never be another such thing happen here. We have to be able to trust that our finances are secure, otherwise .....

@ButterflyFeetDigital I agree we should be able to trust, but I'm not taking any chances... I posted this on the previous page, but again here- The best advice I've seen in that thread is to open an Etsy specific bank account with its own debit card and overdraft protection, which I will do. It will be completely separate from the monies we live on, and pay bills with. Can't even imagine how this has affected people who are wildly overdrawn, with cards cancelled, on a long weekend to boot.

For anyone that missed the epic screw up yesterday- many Etsy sellers had large sums taken out of their bank accounts erroneously. The bugs thread again:

@ThePackageHouse Is there a common denominator when they stop along the way? Some hubs have real issues (as do some post offices). So sorry you are dealing with this!!

Wholly cow, what the heck is going on with this website?  Two days in a row now where it's almost impossible to load.  Many times it doesn't. I know this website is farmed out. Seems we need a new farmer!

I am with you- impossibly slow for hours. Sometimes loads eventually, but not always. Mentioned to Christine above, there were hours I couldn't even post recently (got a big maroon error message). And it's been a month today!

Same here.  Twice I couldn't Sign Into the Forum (in the morning and again at around 5:00 p.m.).  Wheel just kept spinning.

Wow @QuiltPolice that was interesting. What net impression did you come away with? Some of it seems true- pretty sure not all is accurate (especially the speculation).

It's been 1 month today since Word Games was started by Jane (the day after the new forum reveal). Even though this new design is a bit tedious to maneuver in, it's so great to have this team to chill out in, and be amongst friendly and fun, new and familiar people. We have made over 8,000 posts in 4 weeks! Many thanks to all of you :)

@ElizabethRosenArt  I very much agree, Elizabeth!  It's fun to sit and relax; and oftentimes makes us cheer up after a not so good day.  I'm not on any other Teams, but glad to be on this one.  Thank You to Jane for starting it; and to you and everyone who invited me  :)

Yes, thank goodness for that ! and it looks like they have removed some of the white spacing too, i know Etsy is working on things, but why do they roll out things that are still in "development stages".
