Hi!!! (this is mamaslittlemonkeys...my alter ego)

You are FORMALLY invited to a THANK YOU party! Although we are not through fighting CPSIA, there has been TREMENDOUS hard work done by many people, including some key people who have worked tirelessly to help fight for all of us.

Special Guests of Honor, who we show are gratitude are:

Kathleen of Fashion Incubator
Dan of Handmade Toy Alliance
Rick of Learning Resources
Rob of CPSIA-Central

(and of course, our etsy admins!!)

These of course are only a few of the people who have helped to try to save handmade, and I surely do not want to leave anyone out...these are just the ones I personally have seen make a tremendous effort on behalf of US as handmade artisans. (please if you feel I'm leaving anyone out, let me know!!)

Of course this is a sort of celebratory party...we are not in the clear, but we have made a small step. Even if we must fight for years to come, we should congratulate ourselves on the work we've done thus far and how we have banded together as a community!

SOOO, tell your friends, your mama, ANYONE who sells handmade (does NOT have to be just Etsy sellers), anyone who buys or just LOVES handmade and agrees with our cause!

Thanks for the invite! I will definatly be there. Also a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has come together for this fight. The law would have had a HUGE effect on my buisness as everything I sell is geared tword children so I can't wait to celebrate the change!

Don't forget Rachele Dressler-Sweetser, Michael Kushner, Kenneth Ross, ReformCPSIA.org, ReformCPSIA petition and others who have been fighting this day and night!! We still need supporters for the lawsuit! Don't expect Congress to fix this. WE as a community need to fix this.

Sorry, not interested. Still have work to do, things to accomplish. I don't feel we "gained" anything. We lost our right to freely sell. I think the CPSC gained something, time. When we see accomplishments benefitting all, then, perhaps, there will be time for celebrating. But definitely not now!!!

aww bobbin that is a shame. We HAVE made progress. And the only way to make MORE progress is to STAY POSITIVE and keep on keeping on! This party is a thank you to the COUNTLESS people who have helped us fight. People like Kathleen, Rick, Rob and Dan (and more!) have sacrificed huge amounts of their time to help us fight. Don't they deserve a thank you? A chance to chill, hear some good tunes, and be among friends?

There is certainly time to relax in the party that Sun night and get back into fighting mode on Monday.

Negative attitudes have helped nothing in our history.

Take a stand, fight, and GIVE THANKS to all that has been done so far! We got a stay, some exemptions. Dyed textiles are allowed now, etc. Yes things SUCK and will continue to suck. (and if you think current administration gives one rats arse about this, think again everyone)>

But it is up to US to fight and party of keeping a community together is to PLAY together!!

So if you don't want to attend, that is totally up to you, the invitation is open.

Rome wasnt built in a day. Civil rights history wasn't made overnight. We must celebrate the small victories to help gain confidence to carry on.

I didn't say I didn't have a positive attitude. This week I was contacted by a reporter from one of Columbus' top business newspapers to do an article and pictures. I referred him to another Etsy kids' seller in town that stands to lose their whole business. I believe in passing opportunities around. My 17-year old granddaughter wrote an email to our representative in Congress and received a freshly-written email in return explaining where he stands at the moment and future plans.

It is not I am not still working on the issue at hand. I have a positive attitude, I am aware of where we stand on this issue, I am appreciate of the things that have been accomplished. Actually, that the CPSC was over-burdened and needed a break. And Congress, too.

I don't think things "suck". I can still sell. I just don't want to party, not yet. Sorry.
