Strings on masks

Hi guys...just wondering if anyone knows if it will be a problem if I use yarn to tie on the animal masks I'm making. Each side will be 15 inches in length that you will use to tie it behind your head. Does anyone know how long would be too long...or if that would be considered a hazard of some sort. Thanks!

Jenni, I personally would try to come up with another solution, and bypass the issue. How about using the decorative foldover elastic then, you don't have to worry about ties? FOE even comes in animal prints, and just about every color you could want.

Re: Strings on masks

Yes, it's elastic and exempt. Lots of it available as a supply on Etsy.

Re: Strings on masks

Research choking hazards. I think 4" is the "safe" length and I'm not sure at what age that no longer needs to be on the label. I keep wondering how people are getting around that when they sell things with long ties. Maybe use loops on each side of mask to slide around the ears? Or elastic 4" on each side and the customer ties it to their preference?
