I like this:
"The letter also addressed another Congressman’s allegation that “too many children have been poisoned by lead and other substances in their toys.”
Keithley clarified:
Despite the unusual and unacceptable number of toy recalls that occurred two years ago, toys have historically been among the safest of 15 common consumer product categories in the home. Approximately 3 billion toys are sold in the United States each year and less than 1% of those are recalled. Of the toy products that were recalled in 2007 for lead standard violations, there were no reports of any injuries or adverse health effects. In fact, we know of no instance where a child has been injured from lead in toys; the only documented lead-related tragedy came from a charm (children’s jewelry) accompanying a pair of sneakers – not a toy."

On the other hand, did you guys see the stats this week that 120 children go to the emergency room every day in the USA because of BATHTUB injuries?
