Crayon/Marker rolls...

When I searched for threads on this they all seemed to be from back in the '09-'10 range. I did see where someone got quick response from Rose Art on their products for compliance.

So, I need certificates for the crayons or markers, correct?

And I have avoided buttons, with the exception of natural (unvarnished or painted, just bare) wood buttons when I absolutely had to use them on something. So what do I do about the buttons to use for a closure. I use a loop of elastic to go around the button for a closure. I'd like to use more colorful "kiddy" buttons that are plastic. But I'm not sure what to do there, get certificates from the companies?

I was also considering some with a little pad of paper in there - what possible problems there or is it a nothing?

I normally would bother with these but a local boutique that has my clothing in it has asked for these, crochet hook rolls, and knitting needle rolls. I know the cases for the hooks and needles are no problem since they are for adults but I need to find out what paperwork I need for the crayons and what do I need to label them with. Do I use my normal labeling like I use for clothing and add crayons to the content? Or just label as I would for clothing since the crayons aren't "attached"?

Help! :oD And thank you in advance!!!

Re: Crayon/Marker rolls...

1. register as a small batch manufacturer and you have additional exemptions from testing and your boutique can use your Certificate of Compliance with your Small Batch Number for their paperwork. Just be sure that you are following all the "rules".

2. Get what paperwork you can from any suppliers, and keep on file.

3. Many button manufacturers will supply paperwork if you give them the style numbers.

4. Paper is exempt.

5. You will need to have CPSIA tracking labels on all your products. Your dating code is whatever you make it so that you can back track what supplies are in each item if you find any problems.
Mine say.

Numbers correspond to the year and SSFW are the quarter of the year. I can use these for 4 years. I made a stitch under the symbols to show date. I use my records to cross reference.
