I'd like to be present when Edward the Confessor was on his deathbed to see if he really did give the throne over to Harold or whether Harry was fibbing!
I'd like to go back and be the Arverni chieftain Vercingetorix, the last resistance leader of the continental Celts to fight (and fail) against the Roman empire. I think it'd be an incredible time to be alive.

Hildegard von Bingen, a strong and very interesting person from the twelfth century.
As an Abess she wrote scientific books and magnificent music which are available today. She was respected, admired and "..accepted by bishops and monks as an authority" in an age where women weren't even allowed to study. She changed that and in the 1100's !!
The following is a good link to more info on her life and achievements:

Boudicca (or Boadicea, as the alternative spelling goes) sounds a very interesting option to me. Strong, life tested woman, who indeed stood on her own and took her justice. I would also love to taste the life and knowledge of a Celtic Priestess.
