It occurred to me that providing a space for new members to introduce themselves would be a good idea...then it occurred to me that even members who have been a part of this group might like to say a bit about themselves.

So, a brief intro, preferably with a link to your About page (if you've got one). Feel free to post one or two other links here for people to explore, a Blog, Facebook page or Twitter etc.

I'll start:

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1996 with a BA Hons in Design Representation (Modelmaking). Coming from a family of 'sew and sews', 'knitwits' and modelmakers, I seem to have picked up a few skills here and there. I am also a Live Roleplayer, a trained Montessori Directress and a Reiki Teacher Practitioner (with the UKRF) but of late, aside from a few Reiki clients and an interest in personal development and Tai Chi, I'm mostly busy being a mum and getting involved in Steampunk. My creative impulse has re-awakened and now I'm doing the cliche: making stuff on my dining room table out of bits and bobs and inspirations.

Hello everybody! I've read all the posts above and look forward to exploring your work. Bear with me, I'm here intermittently due to variable health. I hope that some of the other leaders will pop by and say hello :)

Re: Introduce Yourself!

( PLEASE ZOOM IN TO SEE THE FULL EFFECTS AND COLOURS )

Encapsulating all the personality of the Premier range, but created by using paints with a higher pigment content on specially prepared glass, the Delux Range emphasises vibrancy, contrast and style. Embracing a sense of natural chaos, they make a bold statement in any, post-modern setting.

Fashionable and affordable, the eye-catching designs of these hand-made clocks are far from conventional. Each, unique piece fuses flourishes of colour to produce an effect that can be anything from boisterous to enigmatic. These clocks are an attention-grabbing focal point for any home or office.

They come with a silent sweeping mechanism and ready to hang or we have an optional 'Oak base plate' for those that require a free standing desk/window sill clock.
Measurements - 24" x 6"

Each of these pieces are completely unique and handmade by myself.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

I'm a self taught artist since oh.. probably about birth. The last couple of years I have been dabbling in watercolors and combining it with illustrative surrealism.

I am a stay at home mom, a lover of horror and sci-fi and really, really bad police procedural shows. I don't think my art defines me as a person (that would be weird considering some of the subject matter I draw) but it IS a compulsion for me to create in some way or another.

Here's my shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DeathMauStudios
And my FB page if you are interested in an over abundance of poorly photographed WIP pictures: https://www.facebook.com/DeathMauStudio

Hello everyone!

My name is Jamie, I run Le Fae Rouge Lingerie.

I've had a passion for design since I was a kid, and while I've always had some trouble settling on what to do (it just all sounds so cool!) I've recently settled on Lingerie Design. Corsetry has always been a passion of mine, and I'm always renovating my patterns for a better fit and cut. I have a mild obsession with a perfect pair of undies; something that is both soft and sexy but not uncomfortable.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi!
My name is Anxo and I'm "new" at Etsy -I had a shop some years ago, but it didn't work. I am from Spain and I have a degree in Literature. I love science fiction and fantasy, and XIXth literature. As at college we didn't really talk about science fiction or fantasy, I have been researching on my own. And I love it.

I also love crocheting and knitting -though I am still learning.

Nice to meet you!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi I'm Kayleigh, currently living in London UK. I love making jewellery/trinket boxes that are a little bit weird and wonderful (I hope!), especially steampunk things or nautical themes. I hope to live by the sea someday soon because even though I was born and raised near the city, I hate living in London with a passion! (Too. Many. People!)

I'm a music teacher, I got my degree in classical flute performance but the intensity of being constantly told that you're unworthy if you're not busting a gut in practice rooms for 8+ hours a day etc just made me question life. I love music, it has and always will be my life, but I believe it is for enjoyment and for soul-nourishment, NOT competing and tearing down everyone else just to get where you want to get. Not my thing. I now just teach the flute to youngsters and have a big NO STRESS ethos to my teaching whilst making sure they make progress for their own enjoyment and benefit, which they seem to appreciate. So for my own musical enjoyment, I write songs and play the guitar.

I used to teach music in a primary school but that went pear-shaped due to beliefs that music was detrimental to children's learning (Note: it is the complete opposite, and that's a scientifically proven fact). I now just teach at home. The rest of the week, I make stuff!

Making stuff started out as the usual messing around (my poison is polymer clay..sometimes metal stamping) and giving it as gifts to family (my Mum and Grandmother love handmade stuff) and received nice feedback, often saying that I should sell it. So here I am. It's all trial and error, SEO makes my brain implode because it's easy to droawn in the sea of conflicting advice out there!

Here's my about page anyway :)
Cheers,
Kayleigh

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone! My name is Kristina & I live in the good ole' USA in the magical state of Iowa. Right next door to a cornfield. I enjoy a multitude of creative outlets. I crochet, dabble in photography, design & make jewelry, play guitar (poorly), write & sing.

I re-opened my Etsy shop a few months ago to sell my jewelry designs & creations. I've been absolutely loving it so far. I have so many supportive people in my life & I am very lucky! I try not to put any pressure on myself, as I don't ever want creating to feel like a chore!

I envelop myself in steampunk, nautical, whimsical, fantasy, and Vcitorian-inspired themes. I consider myself to be a very eclectic individual. If it's beautifully strange or strangely beautiful, I love it & am inspired by it!

On a personal level, I am about to enter the last year of my 20s. I am married & am a work-at-home-mom to FIVE darling children.

I look forward to browsing everyone's work & words!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi! I’m Kristina and and I make custom #tattoys — bearded men and rockabilly girls with tattoos. I’m 24 and live and work in Moscow, Russia. It’s my main job and important part of my life – a way of expression.
And I give to this most of the time and effort, and I get bac unreal pleasure and a lots of positive emotions. It’s great when passion brings not only pleasure and satisfaction from the

process, but also makes it a favorite job.
I draw everywhere and always, as long as I can remember. Mostly I’m exciting to make images of faces, especially the eyes. More recently, about a year ago, I was completely and irreversibly absorbed doll world, and I knew to paint on fabric is a thousand times more interesting than on paper. Then came another insight: master puppeteers unfairly bypassed male images, especially now, when, for example, such attributes of masculine beauty as beard and mustache were built almost in the fashion cult! Tilda, dolls princess, comely young lady with curls and bows they are everywhere. But not bearded dolls. If to make a doll tattoo, then it immediately attract the attention of today's young girls and guys who look the same. Actually, I am inspired by today's mods. Among my friends there are many tattooed girls and cool guys with beards they are my inspiration and my aesthetic pleasure.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone! My name is Angel. I grew up with a mom who use to sew a lot. She made costumes and would rent them out. I learned a thing or two from her growing up. I didn't really find my interest till later in life. Now I'm loving what I do and would not change for anyone. My inspiration comes from movies, music and such.

Please feel free to stop by shop and have a look around. Ideas, suggestions, custom orders, etc are welcome :)
