patchouli stinks.

i hate it but my customers always ask for it.

i had a sweet patchouli that i liked, more sweet than patchouli.

but this time i bought that plus a straight patchouli. but yuck. and it makes me actually ill. i think i am allergic because i cough like crazy when i open the box it is in...

i hope it sells fast. i should sell it for 1.00 a bottle just to make it go away..

I don't like patchouli on its own but I combined it with lemon in a soap in my other shop and I think the two together smell great.

I like it because it brings back memories of my wild hippie days.;] My sister wears it all the time so I'm always looking for patchouli soap for gifts for her.

Same here!! we old hippies never forget... hopefully our olde folk homes will smell like patchouli, have lot of medical mj and Hendrix and Joplin on the PA system!!

Beeblecat, my sister is exactly the same! She was so excited when I found her some natural deodorant in a patchouli scent, right here on Etsy. I guess we are all going to the same old folks home as well.

I do like the memories it evokes in small doses...husband hates it. He can't stand vanilla, either...it's a bummer. Some dude my sister hung out w/ for a minute spilled a bottle of the oil in her car...was so ruined. gak!

funny how personal scents are. My bros ex wife always wore Chanel #22. I absolutely loved it and my Mom couldn't stand it! My hubs and I have never agreed on scents (for him or me!) in 37 years!

I used to like it a lot until my ex started using the oil as a cologne. Patchouli, pot, and body odor do not a pleasant smell make.

After I left, when he would send packages to the girls he would seemingly bathe the box in it. I'd have to air it out in the garage for a week before it was tolerable. Some of my stuff still smells like it, it gets into everything.

The best thing about patchouli (other than the memories and associations with Grateful Dead shows) is the word itself. PA - CHOO - LEE. Great word, fun to say!
I think I'm going to name my next cat Patchouli.
