TeamSocial Retweet Test Update

Hi Team,

Following is info and instructions for everyone participating in the testing of the TeamSocial retweeting App. 22 members signed up to test however including members already signed up for the app we are a total of 33.

For the Test we will need to do the following:

1. SCHEDULE OUR RECURRING #ETSYMNTT TWEETS - 5 PER DAY
Let each set up 6 tweets w/ our hashtag. If you need a way to AUTO-TWEET sign up for http://etsysocial.com/. If you have a subscription that expired let me know and I will renew it.

6 x 33 = 198 retweets each per day
in our twitter account, i'm thinking that will look like each of us posting 8 team retweets per hour

2. SIGN UP FOR TEAMSOCIAL - http://teamsocial.me/
Log into your twitter account that you use for the Team. Then follow the http://teamsocial.me/ link. Their system will recognize you as being part of our Team. Let me know if you have any problems getting set up.

3. TEAMSOCIAL 1 WEEK FREE TRIAL
Once we are all signed up that the TeamSocial site I will be in communication with Danial, the developer to establish that we all have a 1 week free trial active.

4. IF YOU ARE ON OTHER TEAMS
If you are already signed up with the app and retweeting with another, you will not be able to retweet with the team using TeamSocial :( The app is currently not set up to allow for multiple teams...not yet.

I use Buffer (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram) and Later (Instagram) to schedule posts from my computer. You will need to have the App's on your phone.

I am wondering what you all think about doing a views / visit type thread? I have done this on other teams and it does give a boost.

This is how it worked when I did it last, but as mentioned, it only works in CHROME (though a private window in firefox "may" work too, I don't know) but rather than "favorite or heart" an item since you will be using "Incognito mode" to do this, it is simply opening a listing from someone's shop and leaving that window open for 60s seconds.

What the last team created was this:

You do a search on google for the shop's name above you on the thread in an "INCOGNITO" window on chrome, you open the shop and open however many listings we decide on. I would use the open in a "new tab" when I did this so everything was on one icognito page.

This DID generate views/visits. Does anyone want to try this? How many listings to open do you feel would be appropriate? 12 ... 24 ...

I am working tomorrow during the day so maybe we could see who would want to try this out on Saturday?

I could ask Clarissa to create a new thread explaining how it works and we can do a test run for Saturday and Sunday and see if the visits actually show up on stats on Monday? I think the stats are now delayed by 4 or 6 hours (this stinks).

I am game if other's are interested and will write Clarissa to see if she will post a thread to do this, that way it is open to the entire team without requirements in that if you don't post your shop name you don't have to play ....

I will check back later today to see if anyone is interested and will add any new people to the manual retweet list on m y twitter if I missed you. Remember you all can create your own twitter list of the manual retweeters or follow mine either works.

Okay so this current list is for Instagram! I am following everyone. I am unsure of what sort of threads apply to instagram but I am totally game.

Just checking in after four or more days of being totally bombarded by dance stuff that I had to memorize. Would you believe that hubby and I still have dumb, flip-top phones, so no Instagram possibility for me. HOWEVER, our phone contract with Verizon will expire end of October. We will definitely upgrade to at least one Smartphone type of cell then. I am WAY behind the curve on all the apps that you are talking about ... and my shop is DEAD IN THE WATER ... but have been so busy with dance stuff that I haven't had much time to worry about it. I am sure going to need help once we upgrade our phones. Don't have a clue!

I did (barely) find the time on Saturday to retweet four of you and do two tweets of my own before I had to rush out the door. I had two views on Saturday and two views on Sunday.

By the way there is a workaround to post on Instagram for those of us who don't have smart phone or are too old school to use smart phones for lots of stuff. (I belong to the latter category.)

I figured it out yesterday but don't have time to share right now. Will later today.

BTW, what type of computer do you use? Mac? Windows? and which browsers do you use?

Our big computer that I use, (not a laptop) is a Lenovo. I use Windows, and the browser that I use is Internet Explorer.

Yona (of CraftySchmantcy) ... you amaze and astound me, totally! :) There is NOTHING, or at least not much, that you don't know, or can't fix ... or find another way around some internet communication problem. You have one heck of a knowledge about internet communication issues. I don't know how you do it, but I'm glad that you are a teammate. Just saying! :)

I'm an instagram newbie but managed to do 6 posts. Have 40 followers and a bunch of hearts. Getting the hang of the hashtags.

Still don't quite get it. Don't understand why I wound up getting a whole bunch of hearts/likes/whatever for 2 identical posts. I made a mistake and created a duplicate post. THEY ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. I don'[t want to delete either one because each seems to have its own fan club. What the ....

Bonnie, if you want to try instagram sans smartphone there are a few options. But Internet Explored doesn't seem to be one of them. Do you happen to have Firefox on your computer, or can you download it? That's what I used to for my last 2 posts.

I used Grum which is a paid service that lets you use their website via computer to post to Instagram. They give you 4 days of free trial which is what I used to create my first 4 posts. They are kind of pricey for the limited services they offer, its $9,95/month. So, I found the Firefox alternative which is free.

Broke down a few days ago and started a new Hootsuite account and thus am still in free trial mode. What I used it for mostly is for bulk tweet uploads from excel. It also offers Instagram posting, but its a hybrid service. You can create your post via computer on their website, but then the send the post to you phone and you use your phone to actually send the post to Instagram. So far I haven't been able to get it to work.
