EtsySocial Retweet Test!!

Team I am beyond excited for us to start testing our new auto-retweet app!!!

The set up for the test is very simple:

Step 1. Signed into your EtsySocial account: http://etsysocial.com
(if your account is not active, just let me know and I'll renew you)

Step 2. Set up the Auto-Retweet - follow this link: http://etsysocial.com/admin/retweet

Fill in:
1. Team's Twitter Username: etsymeetntweet
2. Team Retweet List: etsymntt
3. Team Hash Tag: #etsymntt

WHAT WE ARE TESTING FOR:
The main objective for this test is to determine if the app is behaving the way we need it to. ie is it...

1. posting a max of 10 retweets an hour to our Twitter accounts?
2. posting in a minimum of 5 min intervals?
3. only posting team # retweets from our Team Twitter List?
4. retweeting 1 team # tweet per member per hour?*
5. filtering out profanity (we don't need to test this one :D just know the developer is working on building a very long list of bad words!)

(* this rule is to protect us from having our hashtag abused...along with rule no. 2... the goal is that even if someone posted 5 #tweets in an hour only one would get retweeted.)

IMPORTANT Please Note: With this test you may or may not see an increase in your tweets being retweeted since we are using our main twitter lists of 223 members. We're testing with this list first so that the app has a large pool of retweets to pull from.

The next test we do will be with a new smaller list and then we will see ourselves being retweeted. Depending on this first test, we should be ready for the second test by the middle of the week! ...and maybe by this time next week, we will be implement Team wide and get this party started!!! (but we will talk about a new team hashtag before then).

I should have added in the above post that the retweeting of these very obvious test tweets should be appearing in my "Notifications" column on TweetDeck. They should "stick out like a sore thumb", if I may use a CLICHE. As I said above, sadly I am not seeing any retweets at all of these, but at least I thought of a way to highlight this problem and really bring it to the forefront of my attention.

Thank you everyone! You all are amazing!...spread sheets and twitter anytics and as Bonnie suggested 'notifications' on twitter.com, tweetdeck or the twitter app is also a good way to monitor retweet activity.

Also looking at ones tweet feed on twitter.com and will let you see who your retweeting and who retweeting you at a glance.

MadamCoyote, i mentioned the 8/8, 8/6 etc dates to him. He said its set to pull tweets every 30 mins. We discussed that there may be a rule in place that is narrowing our pull of tweets. So were looking at that and i had him lift a rule regarding the number of hashtags!

Hoping by Monday well see some marked changes.

Ok, after going through everything that I've auto retweeted between midnight and 7:35 pm "Twitter time" (which apparently is Pacifc time zone) today, here's the analysis:

I did 34 retweets, from 20 different individuals

8 of them did not have the #etsymntt hashtag

All of them were originally tweeted between 12:14pm on 8/6 and 8:48pm on 8/8

The hour that had the most was 1:06 am to 2:05 am, where I did 5 retweets (I picked the time off of the hour like this because I only know the times of the retweets relative to my own tweets, which are spaced 10 minutes apart "on the fives".)

Several hours had 1 to 4 retweets, while a few hours had none.

3 retweets were from Natalie (@ShabVintique - the flower petal lady) - 2 of these didn't have #etsymntt

2 retweets were from Angie S. (@smilingbluedog) - 1 of them didn't have #etsymntt

1 retweet from Dee Gee (@deegeemariegift) - no #etsymntt AND this was a tweet promoting RoundTeam!

1 retweet without #etsymntt from BraceletsHomme (@ozencS)

1 retweet without #etsymntt from Debbie Crochets (@debscrochet)

1 retweet without #etsymntt from Designs by Cher (@lebaronesscher)

1 retweet without #etsymntt from Lucky Frog Designs (@LuckyFrogEtsy)


Of the ones that had #etsymntt hashtag:
4 retweets were from urban pearl studio (@urbanpearlgirl)

3 retweets were from Patrice Allison (@lilyspad58)

3 retweets were from EarthEnergyGemstones (@EarthEnergyGems)

2 retweets were from BonnieLouLane ART (@BonnieLouLane)

2 retweets were from EtsySocial (@EstySocial)

2 retweets were from jen (@jnnfrp40)

I got pulled away to something else earlier today, so I will have to look at which of my tweets are being retweeted tomorrow. I'm betting that the only ones that have been were tweeted between the 6th & 8th. :-)

Thanks for coordinating all of this with the developer, Clarissa! Hopefully he can figure out what the rule is that's limiting the dates it's pulling from and we'll start seeing different results soon.

CraftySchmantcy - I'm still learning my way around Twitter Analytics. Two weeks ago, I didn't even know it existed! How did you download your data? I just tried using the "Export data" button under the Tweets tab, but all it gave me was headers, no data at all.

Oh! I just realized I already have a column in TweetDeck that shows me what's being retweeted.

I do see quite a few of mine from Aug 6 - 8 that have been retweeted, BUT...I have one that I tweeted 6 hours ago that was retweeted by PrayLoveYoga an hour ago and by ManAndStone 45 minutes ago - those are both Clarissa, aren't they? If I'm right, and if Clarissa isn't manually retweeting, then maybe the developer got that piece fixed already. :-)

I get the whole spreadsheet when I download. Make sure you have a time frame showing, your choices are the last 7 days or last 28 days (you can choose previous months too) showing to the left of the export data link.

Am I on the Etsymntt Twitter list? I am still not seeing my retweets and am "manually" retweeting. I set my tweet handle to reflect correctly @swirlingOrange1 so if anyone sees me tweeting or retweeting, yay, can you just let me knnow? I "heart" manual retweets so I can distinguish which are manual and which are auto.

How to Set up your Auto-Retweeting on EtsySocial:

1. Make sure you are logged into your EtsySocial,
2. Follow this link: etsysocial.com/admin/retweet
3. Fill in the spaces: 1. EtsyMeetNTweet 2. Etsymntt 3. #etsymntt
4. Check the "Activate" box

if it doesn't work and you get continuous swirling, check to see if you have your twitter account authorized by clicking the auto-tweets tab on your etsysocial dashboard. Let me know if you need any help!

Crafty - I've tried downloading it with it set on 7 day and 28 day, and I still only get headers. Are you signed up for Twitter Ads? I'm not signed up for them, and I'm wondering if the export only works if you are signed up for Ads.

One hour ago MadamCoyote retweeted it (it showed a 9-hour orgin) and also Patrice Allison. 35 minutes ago ManAndStone retweeted it and 26 minutes ago Janet Purves retweeted it .... all the same original tweet showing it was emitted 9 hours ago. SO ... this was a current tweet, retweeted FOUR times. Things may be looking up! :)

To see your set up I had to change your password to log in. You just need to use the forgot password button to change it back.

I have just had a look today and my being retweeted and retWeeting are a little patchy they seem to follow the same pattern though for example :
Rts
38 mins ago
3 x 2 hrs ago
1 x 3 hrs ago
3 x 5 hrs ago
1 x 6 hrs ago
1 x 9 hrs ago
2 x 10 hrsago

Now the odd thing with these Rts are some are my tweets from 1 day ago, some today but some of tweets being retweeted earlier on eg earlier on 6 hrs plus are dated 6th , 7th and 8 th August.

Tweets that I am retweeting some seem to be dated 7th and 8th August where as others are from 12 hrs ago

I am auto tweeting using twitter -fu and using tweet deck to check tweets and retWeeting, hopefully I am reading the info right.

I have just looked at my twitter feed and I seem to be auto tweeting 6 or 7 times an hour between hourly auto tweets. So hurrah it's working! Also I had 35 visits yesterday which is a great improvement. Thank you Clarissa. Xx

1 hour ago, 1 person retweeted my (different) tweet from Aug 8
1 hour ago, 1 person retweeted my tweet from Aug 6
2 hours ago, 2 people retweeted my (same) tweet from 16 hours ago
2 hours ago, 1 person retweeted my tweet from 4 hours ago
3 hours ago, 1 person retweeted my tweet from Aug 8

Then it gets a little harder for me to tell, because I have a period of time where it looks like there's some manually retweeted ones mixed in with some auto retweeted ones, and I'm not awake enough to figure out who is and who isn't auto retweeting as part of this beta test.
