Not showing up in browse (by category)

So… my linesheet isn’t showing up when I browse the EW categories.

I’ve listed all my individual items utilizing the Category field for each item. And in my wholesale profile I have two boxes checked under "Categories you specialize in”: Kids & Toys, and Stationery.

When I go to the EW home page and filter by either "All Categories" or "Seller Location", OR search with a term that’s in my item titles (toy, for example, or color) - my linesheet does show up in the results.

However, it does not show up in the results when browsing either the "Kids & Toys" OR “Stationery" categories. Is this some kind of glitch? Or am I missing something in order for me to be found by a buyer who is truly browsing categories with no other filters or search terms?

This is very important because one of the most often used keywords that lead people to my shop in Etsy retail is a proprietary name, which I do not list in my item titles or descriptions for obvious reasons, but as a tag leads the majority of traffic to my shop. Since EW doesn’t use tags, I’m relying most on buyers browsing categories to find me.

Hi all,

Good news - we have a fix! What we need you to do is use the Bulk Edit tool to re-add your items to your linesheet. The newly added listings will override your existing listings and all will be well.

Please allow some time for the changes to take effect.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks Michelle! Is there any update on this issue? I still don't see it resolved, and haven't had any interest at all on my linesheet. I'm afraid I'm not being seen.

Same problem for us...

When I look under gifts for men or wedding or whatever tag/category I might think I'm in our shop doesn't show up.

I'm having this same issue. All of my products are tagged with "nautical", "seaside" or "beach" and nothing shows up when searching under any of those...at all. I would think something would show for "seaside" as my shop name is Seaside Designs, but nada. Please let me know if there is something I should be doing on my end so my products show in a simple search. Thanks!

Any update on this?
Kids & Toys is the only category I sell in. It is so easy for a customer to browse through those 18 pages to see what EW offers for Kids....my shop (and maybe others) are being missed completely.
Any help would be so appreciated...my EW orders abruptly stopped about 9 days ago, and I have been consistently getting orders since August 2014.

Thanks, Michelle.....I just went in and re-added my items to my linesheet...and, I am still not listed under the category. I am not able to be found by clicking on my state or city either. Does it take a bit to show up after re-adding items?

Currently I have each item selected at Retail & Wholesale. Do I need to have two separate listings, one for Retail only and one for Wholesale only?

I fiddled around trying different suggestions and ways to list and nothing worked. I hadn't made any changes to my categories since I started on EW, and then all of a sudden I wasn't listed in my category.

Here is what I did to fix the category issue I was having......

Make a completely new listing in the new listing manager (Important!---do not copy an existing listing, just cut & paste your info). Then choose a main category ONLY and NO subcategories (Important!---when you choose a sub-category, it will not work).

This worked and got me listed in the correct category within minutes. I tried the suggestions from Etsy Admin, and while helpful in narrowing down what did not work, it still wasn't getting me listed in the right category.

Because I had to make all new listings, I now have wholesale only listings, separate from my retail ones. I wanted to do that eventually, but that gave me a good reason to do it sooner rather than later.

Again, it has to be a new listing (no copy) with only a main category chosen (no subcategories).

Try one of your listings and follow the above instructions and see if that works.

Hi Tana!

Your items show up in Wholesale categories kind of like how items show up on retail - it's based on a mixture of your listing title, the materials you choose for your listing, and the newness of the listing. Unfortunately, I can't provide more information than that.
