please explain "featured"

So I am not so sure what it means when you make something a featured item.. in need of advice! I usually just make my sale items the featured ones because the sales dont last very long.. Thanks for any feedback!

Featured are the first things a customer sees when they visit your shop so you want something to get their interest. Change them as often as you want

If you click on your "shop link/button" and go to your etsy shop, there should be items that you have clicked the featured button (star) on at the very top.

So, any time someone goes directly to your shops home page, they will see the items that you featured at the top of the page.
