Your name as a Tag

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share with you that I was looking at my Stats and it shows that someone (think it was my friend) had gone into Etsy and just put my name (not shop name) into the Etsy search. Luckily for some reason I had used my name as a tag on a pair of earrings, so they were able to find me. I will be using my name as a tag for a lot of items now, so that people who know me and don't know my shop name can find me on Etsy.

Does anyone else do this?

I do it, but the only downside is that sometimes who aren't familiar with Etsy sometimes think those search results are "my shop".

I have heard that we should use our shop name as a tag, but I think it really makes sense to use a personal name as well... however, I have not been doing so, so thanks for the reminder!

Thanks for a great tip! I just used it on one item to see if it brings in traffic.

I don't remember me adding my username in my tags but there are times when my name was searched and appeared in my shop stats :)

Every time. At first I thought it was a wasted tag but as time go on and my shop name has become associated with my specialty, I feel like it's essential to include it in every listing.

noone actually ever searched for my real name or nick name but i do get quite a few hits for my shop name

I think I will start using my user name in my tags, see if it gives me some views. thanks for the hint !

I think I'm going to start using my name as a tag.

Not only does it help if people are searching for me, but I also have the same last name as the guy who wrote the original Pinocchio, so people will see my listings if they search that way. So far there's only 4 listings if you search "lorenzini" and the one is mine. :)
