The timing for these quotes is so appropriate for me. Yesterday I accomplished something I had never done before. My head was really swollen for awhile after I received notice that it worked. Our son and his wife are building a new house so their kids can go to school in a different town where property is limited and higher priced than what they can afford. To help save money they bought a professional home design architectural CAD program. Since they were too busy to use it, I said I would try to figure it out and create the home of their dreams in a very affordable way. I've never taken art, design, or computer classes and I'm 68. Fortunately, like all of us on Etsy, I do have some natural design and problem solving skills. I took a picture and floor plan of a house that they sort of liked and completely redid it. I taught myself the program so that I was able to print out official blueprints that our son took to the building department for his permits. Yesterday he got the word that my creation and blueprints passed inspection. We went out to the property last night and I helped (since it was my creation) pound the board attached stakes with the permits and building notice into the ground. Not only have I already saved them thousands of dollars, I achieved something I would never have thought possible by jumping in and working at it until I succeeded. Usually things come fairly easy for me, but this was one of the biggest challenges that I've given myself, and the accomplishment feeling is so good. And I had so much fun doing it.
As your quotes say, don't be afraid to jump into something new. You might not succeed, but if you do the feeling is wonderful. Just be determined and think positive.
