You have a man that supports your craft?

If your man is awesome and so dedicated to you and to what you love to do. I would like to know about it. I'm blessed with mine and I'm sure I'm not the only ETSY member who needs a supportive spouse to keep on going.

Being self employed is hard and if my Benoît wasn't there I COULD NOT keep on going.

I've just created a team to honor them. You have nice clear photography in your shop and are motivated to participate in a small SUPER active team, please follow this link to the "My man supports me team".

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My boyfriend Dan is quite supportive, he always listens to me and is happy for me when I get a sale. He lets me bounce off ideas and offers options to what I wanna do or what would be the best idea to get the most sales.
He has offered to help me when i start to make new items ( bath and body items). I am really lucky I have him. I am pretty sure Id be going crazy if I couldnt openly talk about my ideas out loud to him.

I have a women support me!

If the team named "My spouse supports me", it will attract some "man" to join. :)

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

Support is wonderful coming from anyone, especially a significant other. I have been in extremely supportive relationships, and others who just didn't "get it". I love to know that someone is genuinely interested.

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

Nice idea for a team! The man in my life certainly supports me!
My fiancé helps with designs, contributes to my shop, helps me pack things and also helps me put storage units up to contain all of my stuff! He's always really proud when I sell something, and is even more happy when one of our collaborations gets sold as well. He always appreciates it when I show him a new design as well, and likewise when he shows me his new designs- we can both remember too many times when we've shown the wrong people that really don't care and take the mickey!
Every so often, he will also come up with an idea or a tool that will make some aspect of my work easier or faster. He has a big collection of household tools, and if he sees me struggling with something, he'll be right there with something to sort the problem out!
I guess when you've found the right person, you know they're right for many reasons, but nothing compares to such support. An ex of mine really didn't care about my crafts and it created a lot of friction. One example was a huge argument that began because I was rustling wrapping paper too loudly during him playing a computer game ¬_¬

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

Hooray for supportive partners! Mine is deliciously supportive as well, and even models my ties for me to photograph (still editing them, its more difficult than I thought to get the color accurate!). A few weeks ago, we even swapped my studio for the man cave so I could have more space. He genuinely loves my work, and I feel completely supported and encouraged. Its super :) Great thread!

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My husband has been supportive through the good times and slow times. My business pays off our debt, so it's nice to see that I am making a HUGE contribution to the family budget now. But, I wouldn't have made it this far if he hadn't been there for me during the slower seasons.

Thanks everyone for YOUR support! I think I'll change it for "My spouse supports me" to also honor the male members of ETSY.

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My husband supports me very much. We've been married 37 years. I've been in business for 27 of those. Many times he cooked, cleaned, took care of the kids, did my accounting work, and listened to me, and much more, and still does. I have appreciated all his help through the years.

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My Marc supports me through thick and thin!

He supports my designing, crafting and my Etsy shop.
He is my biggest fan!

But he also has to deal with me being unable to do pretty much anything else as a result of chronic health issues (fibromyalgia, diabetis, etc.). I can only be active a few hours a day (on a good day).

Marc is away from home 12 hours on every weekday (he is a member of the Belgian Airforce), but he also runs our entire household and always finds time to do fun things with his kids (girl aged 13 at home with us, adult son living on his own).
He also takes time off from work whenever I have a hospital appointment (I don't drive anymore).
And he loves to cook!

I could go on and on....
I won the lottery the day I found Marc!

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My boyfriend better be supporting my craft -- it's what's paying the rent. ;) But really, he's very supportive. Let me convert most of our spare bedroom into sewing space, let me use his professional photography equipment for my new studio photos in my shop, and generally is really understanding about everything related to my work. He even let me quit my job over the summer and said he'd support me if it didn't work out. :) Luckily for me it worked out! But it was a nice gesture.

If it weren't for my full time hard working 9 -5 partner, I wouldn't be here at all.

He knows I appreciate it!

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

We are a mother daughter and both my dad and bf are supportive beyond words. My bf has picked up extra bills to lift a partial load from my shoulders. My dad has given up his office space for us to use as a studio. And taken time away from his business to help setup and transport us to out of town craft fairs. Also they both believe in our businesses and this means more than anything

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

Such a nice idea! I'm assuming this team is dedicated to all supportive partners (not a term I love, but the best I could come up with), not just those who are married- there are so many couples who don't have that option!

We are really struggling financially, but my husband continues to tell me to stick with the shop, because he knows it makes me happier than working for someone else. I love how, when I show him a new piece of work, he'll tell me how great it is, even if he would never actually carry one of my bags around.

He also helped me set up my banner when I originally opened the shop- I can honestly say that I would have struggled with that one for a while without his help.

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My hubs is supportive to a point~~~he helps with shows, loading and unloading and helps set up a bit. He takes packages to post office.
Listens to me and gives some pretty good ideas sometimes~~~

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My partner is awesome. He made my banner for me, and when I bought my small shed/studio in the backyard, he built work benches all around. He also helped set up my 12" saw, and did maintenance on my lapidary machine. <3

Re: You have a man that supports your craft?

My husband is awesome! He always has ideas for new designs, has been with me to every show I have done (and that's a lot), and is super motivating! My craft supports both of us, and it is amazing that he offers so much input. I'm very thankful. :)

I have to say, I am truly grateful to my husband who supports me in so many ways, without his support I probably couldn't make the things I make now!
