What music do you listen to while you make?

Hi there!

When I’m creating, I need to listen to something that will motivate me to keep going. Whether I’m knitting, cross-stitching or baking, I’m always playing records to get myself in the right frame of mind.

Do you listen to music while you make? If so, what kind do you choose? Why do you listen to the songs or artists that you do? Do they amp you up and get you excited to take on the day? Do they drive you to create more? Do you prefer music that calms you when things are stressful? Does it help keep you focused? Do you listen to music that will entertain you when work feels monotonous? Do you like something with a good beat to dance to when you need a little break?

In general I listen to a lot of metal, so for high intensity things I'd listen to something like Deftones - My Own Summer, Marilyn Manson- Lunchbox, or Gojira - Stranded.
Art rock or, soft rock, or 80s pop usually helps me too. Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead, 13 Bat Nouveau - Our Black Day, Oingo Boingo - Weird Science, or King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nuclear Fusion are usual favorites.

It depends on my mood but i really like calm music to more concentrate when i create something with precision :)
But don't know why when i make acrylic painting it has to be pop haha

I do love podcasts, The MMA Hour is great it's 5hr or so long, if you like the sport. Also love to listen to music, mainly rock from the 70's, Indie/folk from the 80's, Grunge from the 90', metal from the 2000's and some hip hop mixed in as well..

I usually have the TV going on for background noise but sometimes I do music. Usually if I do music it's most often the radio on either a christian music station or country. I also like sometimes to listen to big band or jazz or even occasionally classical. It depends on my mood and what relaxes me or feels cheery. Either way it's about whatever I can relax into at the time and escape into my creative happy place. :)
