What is going on?

Sales have completely dried up since Christmas. This past December was good until two weeks ago and then everything stopped. Last year, January was my best month. Is it just me? Is anyone having the same problem?

Ive increased my income from last January to this January by 800%

Ive gotten almost a sale a day (7 days / 6 items sold)

Christmas was great now my views are low and no sales. I market and do all my regular things to get business but it has dried up for sure. Hoping Valantines sales will roll in.

Try working on photos - its the easiest way to draw in more buyers/shoppers

Just checked my stats so I can give my "educated" answer. ;)

Compared to the first week of December, my views are at 25% and sales at just over 10% of what they were then.

I think my drop is influenced by a few things:

1) I'm just coming off a three week shop vacation.

2) I'm not accepting Etsy Gift Certificates (a few of my contacts in the last week have requested that).

3) I haven't listed anything new since early December.

Right after Christmas I was getting orders (self gifting!) and now...nothing. So I'm having the same problem. Of course, all the bills from the holidays have to be paid now, so maybe that's part of it?

I just got back today after being away for 2 weeks to take a "break" (left my shop open - and the orders just kept coming)....and I feel like it is Christmas rush all over again. Tired and sick as a dog - but not complaining :)

Diana, we just logged in to pay credit card bills last night and IT HURT. I'm definitely going to have a cart full of Etsy goodies sitting here until next month.

I haven't had any orders since Dec. 17th. Hopefully it will pick up for Valentine's day.

I'm in the same boat, nothing since Christmas but had sales right up to that day. My views are still just as good as they were during the holidays it's just that no one is buying now. Hoping things will change soon!

But one of my goals for 2013 is to unify my photos and have a bunch of them retaken, hopefully that will help - thanks for that tip Sara!

Lots before Christmas, nothing after... I am not complaining though; it gives me time to focus on building my inventory and fixing my listings.

I was curious so I went and checked. Exact amount of orders Jan1st - January 7th of both 2012 & 2013. The difference is revenue. Last year I had $76 in revenue up to this point and this year I've had $89.00. So that is good and due to raising my prices.
I'm still catching up on December's orders so a little bit of a break is nice.
Those wondering about Valentine sales, those have already started. 3 of the items I sold were for Valentine gifts. So if you dont have those love themed items listed, get busy. :)

Thanks to all who replied. I suppose I'm glad not to be alone in my situation, but I am left wondering about reasons. I hope business picks up for all of us soon!

I had one order a few days ago. A very small order but an order none the less. I miss the holiday season where I was getting an order a day or every other day. My views are about the same though as they have been. Been getting a lot of favorites which I hope will equal sales soon. I hope that I get some more sales soon. Ill have more items up soon and I tagged all my jewelry for valentines day.
