Not happy with Valentines browse page

I wish Etsy would have set the Valentines page up like they did the Christmas one. You could browse by bracelet, necklace or earrings. All the jewelry is under gemstone. Doesn't this seem odd? I am so disappointed as jewelry is such a hot item for Valentine's Day.

I agree and so much of the jewelry is either mass produced junk or not even tagged for VD. I can't get relevant at all in that search.

I don't get any hits from browse but a ton from straight on searches ~ makes me wonder if most people are just searching what they want rather than browsing.

Same here. I get a few random Browse hits every now and then but most of my search stats come from regular searches. I personally think the Browse feature is limited in what it shows you. I rarely use it when I'm doing my own searches (as a buyer). I revamped some of the tags & titles of my gift tags listings yesterday to see if they'd come up in the first few pages of the Browse Valentine's category. No such luck. It's still showing all the same items that were there yesterday.

the browse pages are made up of a bundles of smaller searches done by etsy. If you arent titleing and tagging for those, you wont be in there.
Probably not worth making changes to get in there, as the little searches they use change a lot.

people looking to buy use search.

Browse really isn't that important for our businesses.
People that want to buy, like alex said, will use search (or categories).
People that want to browse pictures, might use browse.

I agree, more & more customers are telling me they found my shop through google or some other search page, landed where they wanted and bought what they saw. Rarely do my customers spend time browsing lots of different shops before they land in mine.

Mila- I can't see how relevancy is set on the valentiens browse pages either! Some on the first page have no valentines related thing in the title or tags...
There are lots of personalised items in there, is that all they're going on?

Kim, I just took a peek at your shop. You've got some beautiful items but your Valentine's items could use more tweaking for SEO. Your first feature item is "Valentine's Day Fox in a Jar Miniature Pink Fox in Grass Necklace - a small pink fox in a 3cm jar, perfect Valentine gift, 16 inch chain." As a buyer I wouldn't search for "Valentine's Day fox," which is the first three words of your title. I'd most likely search for "valentine's day necklace." I also see that your other shop is on vacation, so I'm unable to view any Valentine's items in that one.
