Weird msg - Would you reply?

Hi guys,

I've just received a bit of a weird message from an Etsy buyer.

"for your prices...your cushions are cute but in comparison other sellers they should be filled. just sayin is all. Cheers"

I personally think my prices are very reasonable, and quite frankly even comparing me to other Etsy sellers - my prices are at the lower end of average, when related to cushion covers of the same size/detailing. Quite frankly even if they weren't, don't buy from me if you're not happy with my prices. (you may notice this has annoyed me slightly)

Anyway.

My point being, would you convo this person back politely pointing this out, or ignore it.
The buyer has favourite-d my shop, and some items, so I don't want to appear rude and lose possible sales/exposure. But at the same time, I am strong willed and am happy to stand by my convictions (in this case, my prices), this person may be sending similar messages to other sellers who aren't - and a polite convo might deter this person from possibly making others feel bullied into lowering prices. And some non-makers just aren't aware that buying supplies, and putting the work in, is actually worth money...

ok... you get the point. Should I say something, or ignore?

i would ignore it. my first response was to politely reply, but i can see how it could easily turn testy.
you work is great, and so are your prices.

I would just ignore. Anyway, don't people need to pay for our creations? we are artist not machines, so we are more expensive. :-)

I would most definitely ignore it. I've had people question my prices before and I found myself trying to explain my process and how many hours each piece took, defending my hard work and then I realized, I know the passion and work I put into it. If that is so hard for someone to understand then maybe that person won't appreciate the product. I wouldn't respond, you know what you're worth :o)

I liked the earlier post that you could offer a 10% discount if you really wanted to try to make a sale. Otherwise ignore, or thank then for showing interest.

Ignore it. I'm sure the person was trying to be helpful. Heaven knows I've made that mistake many times where my advice had crappy delivery so my point didn't come across well.

Maybe write back and thank them for their interest and just say that you don't fill the cushions because it would make the postage too expensive for the buyer. Also that you can't really compare sellers because everyone has different methods and materials and that yours are filled with LOVE haha

and my #1 pet peeve of the week has been people who say "just saying". It's never to "just say" something nice, ever notice that???

Yes, just try to slough it off. Its tough, but people are rude. I used to own an art gallery/frame shop and got crap like that all the time. You know what you need to charge, the price is the price, and that's it.

I had some kind of ''semi-negative'' comment like this. When it happens, I do something else for a couple hours and then take the time to politely answer, explain my point and say I take their comment in consideration. I think the worst thing to do is to write something back on the spot, which I did before and it didn't turn out very well even if I tryed to stay very polite.

I get so frustated when it happens, mostly when they comment on Facebook where everyone can see it! Some people don't understand the ''handmade'' process, they don't know how compare items or don't know tha value of it. They're not educated about it.

In your case I would write something back, but maybe in one or two days, your emotion won't be the same in your answer!
