Weird msg - Would you reply?

Hi guys,

I've just received a bit of a weird message from an Etsy buyer.

"for your prices...your cushions are cute but in comparison other sellers they should be filled. just sayin is all. Cheers"

I personally think my prices are very reasonable, and quite frankly even comparing me to other Etsy sellers - my prices are at the lower end of average, when related to cushion covers of the same size/detailing. Quite frankly even if they weren't, don't buy from me if you're not happy with my prices. (you may notice this has annoyed me slightly)

Anyway.

My point being, would you convo this person back politely pointing this out, or ignore it.
The buyer has favourite-d my shop, and some items, so I don't want to appear rude and lose possible sales/exposure. But at the same time, I am strong willed and am happy to stand by my convictions (in this case, my prices), this person may be sending similar messages to other sellers who aren't - and a polite convo might deter this person from possibly making others feel bullied into lowering prices. And some non-makers just aren't aware that buying supplies, and putting the work in, is actually worth money...

ok... you get the point. Should I say something, or ignore?

I would just write a quick note back saying something like, "Thanks so much for taking the time to give me advice! So nice of you. My cushion covers are high quality and expensive to make, and that's reflected in the price. But, I really do appreciate you trying to help a girl out. Thanks again!"

Or something along those lines. And do not change your prices.

I would most definitely ignore! Some people feel the need to talk even when they have nothing of worth to say.

ignore. she didn't ask or request any response from you....she was "just sayin is all"... in other words she just felt the need to spout off and you have no responsibility to reply.

Replying could potentially become confrontational and turn it into a negative situation. Just let it go. She was rude.

Marie, to tell you the truth I would just ignore it, and don't take it personally.

We all get weird convos, I was thinking that I had to respond to every convo, which in hind sight I learned you don't! The convo became so negative, the person turned into a bully.

I have to say I learned from experience, not to waste my time on the negative, don't want an immediate problem with a buyer before an item is sold. Not worth it!!!

I would ignore it. I had a convo from someone this morning, asking for me to help her make her coasters, which I also make to sell. I was amazed that someone would ask a competitor for help making an item that the competitor sells, but I ignored it. I'd do the same with this probably. Rude, though, imo.

I would respond, she may just be fishing for a discount and in realizing you stand behind your pricing she may purchase any ways. Some people don't realize the differences between like items, that pricing depends on fabric quality the detail work and the quality of the work as a whole. You cant compare the price of a coat from Walmart to the price of one from Saks. Gees.

Sounds like they love them and want them but maybe don't/can't pay that much. I would ignore, or maybe send a coupon for 10% off if you are looking for business.

Customers negotiate with me at times. I know many shops hate this, but I am not bothered as long as it is done respectfully. Once a customer decides to say an item is not worth what I am asking or offers a less than 'respectful" offer I fall back on replying with, "Thank you so very much for the offer. I am tickled you interested in this beautiful item. I love and value it as well. I am sorry this does not fit into your budget. If for any reason you this changes in the future please keep my shop in mind. Have a blessed day." I find it not worth the trouble to try to explain pricing and such. I have looked through favorites of people who have tried to lowball me and seen items the exact same for much more than my asking price....so usually it is just someone trying to get what they love for a price that fits into their budget (not taking into account your budget at all).
