Views - How are they counted?

I tried searching for this answer but could not find it.

How are views counted?

For instance, let's say my sister visits my shop for the first time on a Monday. Then she visits three of my listings on that same day. Would that count as 4 total views? What if she comes back later in the day and views my shop again . . . does that count?

Then, let's say she visits my shop the next day. Does that count? Or the next week? How does the counting work with people who are logged in to Etsy and those who are not? Are IP addresses tracked and used to determine numbers? Is there a time period after which a visit from a repeat visitor counts?

I think they all would count. I don't think they disregard a person because it's from the same IP address.

Now if you checked your own page logged in as you it would not count.

I also think they do. My daughter & her friends who model for my shop like to look at & show off to their friends the listings they are pictured in so when they do that it will really mess with my views for the day. I will notice several hits on the same items and then I realize Suzie Q was just showing off to all her friends. lol

I think it would be more beneficial if only "unique" views were counted.

Or at least don't count the same person (computer/gadget) looking at the same item more than once a week.
