StumbledUpon

Can someone tell me what stumbledupon.com is? In the last hour or so I've had over 300 hits from that website but I don't know why!
Thanks

Re: StumbledUpon

www.stumbleupon.com (corrected link) has been around for many years and it very good for SEO and promotion. Someone probably mentioned Etsy in an article or posted a link.

Re: StumbledUpon

Basically, when you sign up for stumbleupon.com, they ask you about your interests. Then you click on "stumble" (a button that will be in your bar, up there), and you will "stumble upon" a bunch of stuff you're may be interested in. If you like it, you give it a thumbs up... if people have given your shop thumbs up, it will rank higher.

Sometimes I "thumbs up" my own items and then I get TONS of people looking at them. Good way to advertise for free!

Good job!

Okay great! So is there anyway to find what the link is or to find my shop on there?

Re: StumbledUpon

Talia, this may have something to do with it:

I found this by going to socialmention.com and typing in your shop name.

Re: StumbledUpon

I miss having the link to it from ETsy. I wished they would add a few more links, like pinterest, stumble and tumble...it was so easy to promote on those sites when it was a matter of clicking a button and making an entry. Now it is complicated - unless you want to just tweet

You aren't supposed to do this apparently and your account can be removed if you do. You are to stumble others and hope the same will be done to you. That is the object of it after all. If everyone stumbled their own stuff it wouldn't be a true gauge of how attractive ones items actually were.

Re: StumbledUpon

I hadn't actually heard of Stumbleupon until i read this thread, decided to give it a go and now I'm obsessed!!

It's so fun, any thoughts I had of it promoting my business have kinda gone out the window! oh well!

Re: StumbledUpon

You have to sign up for a StumbleUpon account and then install the toolbar. Then you can "like" pages.

It's great fun, and each page "liked" takes on a life of it's own from there.

Re: StumbledUpon

I recently read a post where someone said that they are 'promoting their stuff like made on stumbeupon.com. HOW is this possible? I didn't think you were allowed to promote your own items? Can someone clear this up please?
