Set a Goal for August

Hi there,

August is upon us. What will your goal be in this month often associated with vacations? Is your goal this month to push on ahead, starting your preparations for the holidays? Or perhaps your goal is to relax, take a break, and gain some energy with which you can approach the upcoming busy season.

No matter what your goal, setting a specific one and sharing it with others can help you accomplish more. For the last two months we invited sellers to set a goal and share it with the team. Take a look at last month's thread ( https://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/14828939/page/1) where you'll see many sellers reporting they reached their goals or made some progress they felt good about. For some easy inspiration, take a peek towards the end of the thread.

Take a moment to settle on your goal and then share it here. By writing it down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to it.

A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale.

I've been on Etsy for 2 and a half years and my August goal is to finally face my nemesis which is promoting on social media!

For some reason marketing is my weakest area and I always put it to the back of my 'to do' list.

So far I have made a list of all the social media I am signed up to and started collecting ideas for regular weekly posts (I don't think I can handle daily yet!), which I plan to start next week :)

Update for August,
I've achieved my first goal which was to reach 800 sales before end August.
Still working on the other goals but this has given me a big boost.

My goal at the beginning of the month was to meet or beat what I did Aug 2013, which was amazing. Not sure if that will happen, very slow month, but I continue to add more items and tweak tags titles etc. This week is better in sales than last week, but I am never satisfied, I always want more. More more more, so addicted to my Etsy site!

So, I wanted to get to 40 sales by the end of August. I got my 40th sale yesterday. Let's move that goal to 41 by the end of August and see if I can make it happen

So I did it! I have over 100 listings in my shop. Hoping to add some more before the month ends... and hoping it helps my visibility on Etsy! Fingers crossed.

Hi, I'm Phyllis, and I've been on etsy for a while with no sales and that's disheartening but my kids inspire me to continue.
My goals for august is to get more items in my shop and get my pics sharper and better. Also hoping to get my first sale by the end of the month.

Hi there. I've been selling on Etsy since 2008 and August is always a slow month, so I usually spend it making NEW STUFF and stocking up my shop in anticipation of the holidays, while updating/ tweaking my old listings. HOWEVER, this year is different-- my mother-in-law has Alzheimer's and came to live with us, so my time is limited and I won't be able to design new items. MY GOAL: To go through all my boxes and drawers and list everything that never got photographed or listed-- so many odds and ends have accumulated over 6 years! It's going to take months!

Hello! I've been an Etsy seller since 2010. I have had to put my shop on vacation mode a few times due to life events...but, I am trying to reboot in a new direction with new products and fresh vigor!

This month is so crazy in most areas of life, but my business goals are these:
* Take new product images and refine my listings (need to draw more traffic in)
* Kick the holiday prep checklist into high gear (I want this season to be big!)
* Finish and launch my Kickstarter campaign, which will get me prepped for a holiday craft fair AND move my shop from "made-to-order" to "ready-to-ship"

I've been receiving Etsy Success newsletters for years, but somehow just stumbled upon the group. Excited to be inspired and drive business!

I have a few goals that are harder than most. I am trying to walk and do more due to my disabilty. I fell and hurt back and neck. I cannot handle a job in public. But i try to take on a ETSY store. Just not getting overwhelmed by daily tasks. Like keeping the House clean. i have had a knock off company copy my Pumpkinteeth invention. I cannot afford to sue them. So i have to beat them here on ETSY. and my buypumpkinteeth .com store. With lower prices and fast service. If it wasn't for Etsy i do not know what i would do... Thank you from all my heart.... I am 21 away from 5,000 sales in this shop - hoping to do it by the end of the month!

Goal #2 is to clean up my studio and get my shipping/packaging areas streamlined for the holidays this year so I am not scrambling! :)
