Set a Goal for August

Hi there,

August is upon us. What will your goal be in this month often associated with vacations? Is your goal this month to push on ahead, starting your preparations for the holidays? Or perhaps your goal is to relax, take a break, and gain some energy with which you can approach the upcoming busy season.

No matter what your goal, setting a specific one and sharing it with others can help you accomplish more. For the last two months we invited sellers to set a goal and share it with the team. Take a look at last month's thread ( https://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/14828939/page/1) where you'll see many sellers reporting they reached their goals or made some progress they felt good about. For some easy inspiration, take a peek towards the end of the thread.

Take a moment to settle on your goal and then share it here. By writing it down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to it.

A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale.

knitting and listing 3 more pairs of fingerless gloves each in a different design and publish the 3 corresponding knitting patterns.

It doesn't seem like much but my kids are on school holidays and their Dad will only have them for a few days during which I also need to have their school stuff ready (of and last night after 2 glasses of wine I had the bright idea to start crocheting a confort blanket for my youngest daughter as she had left her cushion - crocheted by her older sister - in the Ferry on the way to France and they haven't been able to find it)

My goals for August

1. Add more listings for fall
2. Add holiday card listings and offer different price points/number of cards
3. Add zodiac sign birthday cards

This month I am working on re-branding my shop. This will include:

1) Evaluate and retake item photos
2) Evaluate and update each listing description, tags, etc.
3) New shop banner
4) New business touch points including business cards, tags for earrings to hang on, and new packaging.
5) Learn how to better utilize facebook, pinterest, instagram, and twitter to promote my shop. Implement what I learn.

1. Plan my social media calendar/listing schedule for the rest of the year
2. Launch my FB page (!!) and reactivate Instagram

I have been selling on Etsy since 2007.

For this month, I would really like to promote this new item:

I have not been using Etsy in a long time and just recently decided to give it another try my goal for August is to just get started tonight I will set goals for the month and the rest of the year, decide what I am going to sell, how many sells I want by the end of the month, and how many listings I am going to post this month. I also will update all features of my account as well as check in for any ideas or tips in other areas of Etsy that may be of assistance to me. From looking at other stores and others comments I think part of my problem last time was I only placed 3 or 4 items in my store I need to increase my numbers to receive more sales.

My goal for August is to reach 350 items, I am at 308, started the month at 300.
And I want to have 10 sales, Had a goal of 5 last month and reached 7. This month I am already at 5 so well on my way.

I'm new and absorbing everything I can learn. One of my goals for August is to read more About sections on stores that I favorite. I feel I can learn from other people's experiences. I highly recommend this one for anyone who feels discouraged at times about their store. This lady struggled but what a success she is now. You'll love the read.

For me, I've had my shop open a little over a week and already had my first sale! My buyer received the item today and loves it! This tickles my heart.

Anyway, as far as GOALS go- I'm balancing graduate school while starting this shop as a stress outlet for me. Of course I'd like a little bit of an income, too. I would like to stock my shop with more goodies (maybe halloween themed stuff), and get more sales. I've started making treasuries to get noticed. I use twitter and Facebook as well.

So, 10 sales for August. 50 items in my shop by the end of August. Starting small-- but I feel optimistic!

my goal is almost the same each month, i have 3 etsy shops & have been on here sense 2007. My goal each month is to make all my bills so i do not have to go get a real job 9-5. hahahha

My goal for this week (Condensed August Goal) is to list 25 new items. I go back to school next week and I am on my first break all summer so I want to work on listing, listing, listing!! I added 6 new items today so I am on track so far! I am actually excited about this because I will be working on Halloween stuff tomorrow. I love fall!!!

Totally behind on my August goals as I have to add a new one to the top of the list "Research and buy a new digital camera" is my new goal....somehow the macro lens on my 5 year old camera has broken or gotten stuck or something...just wont work any more...so no new photos till I get a new camera :(

Well I have officially quit the day job so now my goal is to make sure I am super organized!!
Learn how to pay myself, get the books organized for season, line up the shows, and get prepared. I have many more goals but I think my biggest goal needs to be line'em up and knock'em down one at a time.

I would like to hit 1,200 sales. I am only 58 away!
I am struggling financially so any sale helps me out with bills. 58 doesn't seem like a large number to me right now. Hopefully I can get close to 1,200!
