Set a Goal for August

Hi there,

August is upon us. What will your goal be in this month often associated with vacations? Is your goal this month to push on ahead, starting your preparations for the holidays? Or perhaps your goal is to relax, take a break, and gain some energy with which you can approach the upcoming busy season.

No matter what your goal, setting a specific one and sharing it with others can help you accomplish more. For the last two months we invited sellers to set a goal and share it with the team. Take a look at last month's thread ( https://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/14828939/page/1) where you'll see many sellers reporting they reached their goals or made some progress they felt good about. For some easy inspiration, take a peek towards the end of the thread.

Take a moment to settle on your goal and then share it here. By writing it down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to it.

A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale.

I've been on Etsy since mid-May 2014. Currently have 48 items listed, and 13 sales.
My goals for Aug:
1. Add at least 5 more items to the shop
2. Take a few nice photos for the "About" page
3. Hopefully will have at least 5 sales in Aug (fingercrossing)

August goals...

1) List at least 3+ items a week.
2) Increase views by promoting more
3) Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with my kids before school starts.

I opened my Etsy store in 2009 but only got serious in 2013. Trying hard to make this work.

Goals for August:
1. Make and list 10 journals
2. 5 sales
3. Also taking time for self care + gardening :-)

Hi! I'm Patrice and have been selling on Etsy for about 4 years. I would love to get this shop actually making an income for me so I don't have to go back to work outside the home.

My goals for August are:

1. To get all the items made and listed that I already have the material for. That will be approx. 10 more listings plus their variations.

2. I would also like to find a model or two and shoot some better photos.

3. Finish the "Boost your shop" seminar that I started but haven't completed.

My goals for August are:
1. List 1 new tutu by week.
2. Get at least 5 sales during this week.
3. Take pictures and list the wedding sets I have ready.

I would like 100 dollars a month at least in sales.
I would really like more but how does making a goal and reaching the goal work? I list, and promote on twitter (hate the FB) and nothing comes of it.
I do need better photos, and I'm working on that.

I think this is an excellent way to stay focused and keep moving forward. I haven't always done this myself but I have advised others to do so.
I am taking this opportunity to do it myself.
For the month of August, I am setting a goal to post a new blog each week as well as 25 new listings each week. This is definitely an achievable goal and having written it down, I feel even more motivated to make it come to life.

I am also having questions about getting more followers. I am not really sure how to gain more followers at this point. I seemed to have much more a month ago and they have dwindled. Any tips or ideas?

Part of my goals:

I have 20+ items ready to list. I need to list all of them.
Make another 20 items, so they can be ready to be post in september
Sell more than I did in August 2013

Been on since Jan 2014-
August goals- wow so many of ya'll are waaaay ahead of me!
1) get up to at least 60 items- not just renews...
2) rethink combinations of small items to create interesting, saleable groups of dollhouse furnishings
3) pictures,pictures,pictures
4) set up easy to use word doc so I can cut and paste descriptions, doing a bunch at a time instead of taking photo, then going to write each description separately
5) SEO check in weekly
6) send notifications to all guests who purchases or favorited about new items
7) check in on teams weekly
whew- that's enough for me :)

Goals for August:
-Have all Halloween items made and listed.
-Start making and listing Christmas items on final week.
-Get back into the habit of updating SEO once a month minimum.
-Update all shipping prices so they cover new shipping supplies.

2) More than 10 new item listing
3) Spend more time on team.
4) Getting idea for christmas items.
5) Find and get some useful material for my items.
6) Picture!

Sales are always wonderful for any shop. Every month I always hope for more sales. I started my shop in 2011 but I recently got into a lot more this year, so I have a lot of work to be done as far as networking and maximizing exposure. While I'm all for sales, I'm starting to see that networking and building up followers and admirers are more important in the long run.

This month, I would love to increase my store's admirers count and try to maximize my audience as best as I can. I hope that my base can grow significantly as each month goes by. I feel that networking will make my sales go up naturally, so instead of wishing that my sales go up this month (although I would love it if it did and am all for it), I hope to gain more admirers and followers.

My shop opened in March 2014 and I had NO idea what I was doing (I only know a little bit more now and it's August!). I have only become active in the past 3 weeks, on the advice of a fellow Etsy shop owner, who explained become active, active, active.
So, my goals are:
1. Continue to be active
2. Join a new team
3. Increase my inventory
4. Attempt to figure out how to increase sales

Any advice is most certainly welcomed. Happy August to all! :)

1 - Reach 2000 sales (almost there, yay!)
