Set a Goal for August

Hi there,

August is upon us. What will your goal be in this month often associated with vacations? Is your goal this month to push on ahead, starting your preparations for the holidays? Or perhaps your goal is to relax, take a break, and gain some energy with which you can approach the upcoming busy season.

No matter what your goal, setting a specific one and sharing it with others can help you accomplish more. For the last two months we invited sellers to set a goal and share it with the team. Take a look at last month's thread ( https://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/14828939/page/1) where you'll see many sellers reporting they reached their goals or made some progress they felt good about. For some easy inspiration, take a peek towards the end of the thread.

Take a moment to settle on your goal and then share it here. By writing it down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to it.

A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale.

I would like to get 11 more items listed and get 3 more sales for August (my sales goal is 5 items per month.)

I've been on Etsy since February 2011.

Goals for August:
- More Sales than last year August
- Photograph and list or relist all the socks I've knitted in the last few months
- Knit at least 3 Christmas stockings per week
- Finish writing and publish the pattern for the shark/whale socks
- Start writing the 4th pattern for Christmas stockings
- Contact at least 3 people from waiting list from last year

I'm so inspired by all the goals everyone's posting, and happy to see some I'm hoping to accomplish someday myself.

For this month, my main objectives are launching my new beaded collection and getting past the 250 sales mark (I'm 13 shy as of today).

How do you give feedback to your buyers. I used to be able to do this but I can't find any where to do that now. I think it's good to give a recommendation for good buyers.

My shop is almost a month open! I'm setting a goal of getting my first sale in the month of August! I have a tumblr promotion blog, facebook, and business cards. Trying to get as much traffic as possible! I hope you all do really well this month !! Cheers!

My July month has been the most horrible ever since I started on etsy. My August goal is to atleast sell 10 -15 items. fingers Crossed :)

I started etsy store back in November last year but I actively started selling since February this year. I sell fashion accessories and home decor products. Each of my products are inspired from vintage india and presented in a very modern way. Hence its quite a bridge between bohemian and contemporary fashion.

MAATI is my dream company and I keep up with my day job in order to support my dream.

All of you do checkout my store and give me an honest feedback as in what you like, dislike and what should i change. Looking forward!!

This August is different for me as I am taking two vacations....so not normal. So my goal is to sell as much as I did last August and hopefully a bit more. Increase my listings. I have some new background drops, so I want to take new photos of my items. And prepare for the Fall and Halloween wreath season and I hope it is better than last year!

My goal is to add 10 new items this month and tweak some photos of previously listed items. I also would like to reach more views/favorites than I did last month, as well as more sales!

I'm impatiently waiting for the sealant to set on three new sets of coasters that I've made so that I can finish them and get them listed; I'm also waiting on a shipment of some supplies for a few more items that will hopefully get added in the next week or two. So at least I'm making some steps...

I have just joined this group and very keen to see improvement in the way I operate my Etsy shop.

I opened my shop a while ago, but have only recently begun to get moving on things. I have been making the odd sale here and there, which is encouraging.

My goals for August are:

1. get all my current stock listed (not just sitting in piles everywhere, staring at me, judging me for not having already listed them ;)

2. Hit the 20 sales mark. I'm currently at 14, so I think that's an achievable goal if I get all my stock listed before the end of the month.

3. Get back to blogging regularly, because I really miss it and I think it will be a good way to promote my products, both hand-made and vintage.

4. Gain a better understanding of how etsy treasuries etc work. I currently have no idea, so this should be an easy goal to achieve!

last year,I opened one shop on etsy for a company,this year I opened the second shop for another company from April,I am Anne from China,think all of buyers here are very cute and kind.I like doing business on esty and communicating with worldwide buyers,although my english is not so good.

Hi everyone!

My name is Cristy Ramos owner/maker of ArtisanBathandBody.

I opened my Etsy shop on December 16th, 2013 and this has been the best decision I could ever make. I am so thankful I found Etsy, it has helped make my dreams come true one by one, little by little. I must say that I did not know nothing about selling online nor photography (and still not knowing too much) the only thing I knew by that time was making tons of soap; the passion to stay at home with my children encouraged me enough to start all of this, and thank God I did!

My goals for August are:

- Stock in for the busy season that is just around the corner. Making 30 batches of soap by the end of the month will help me to keep up the pace.

- I'm working on a new line of soaps + serums sets (four total) that will be available by the end of the month, hopefully.

- We (my son and I) will be editing Mineral Makeup and Vegan Skincare sections by refreshing keywords and descriptions.

- If there is enough time, we will be updating some photos too.

I'm on etsy since 2011, but my shop was closed most of the time due to illness, but I re-opened it a view months ago :)

My August goals are:

~ reach 100 listings (I'm at 40 now)
~ get 3 sales or more (to get 30 sales in total)
~ participate more in teams
~ re-write 10 item descriptions
~ re-do 20 titles and tags
~ get my packaging for the holiday season all stocked up
~ make 20 holiday items
~ make 2 treasuries a week
~ listing new items at least 3 times a week
~ get my stats to: 1000 listing views, 500 listing favs, 300 shop views, 20 shop favs

I've scribbles on papers here and there over the last few weeks about what I'd like to accomplish by the time my shop turns 3 - I started selling in September 2011. My biggest goal is to get organised. I'd like to create an inventory sheet that I can refer to so I know when to restock (especially with the holidays coming up). I'd also like to have "regular items" - meaning, items that shoppers can always come back to, brand staples.

Our main goal for August, and our shop's third month of being open is to finish up our about page.

Also our other goals we work on:
1. Make 50 listings, including more of our concrete coasters - we only have listed 2 by now!
2. Get 5 shop admirers - we managed to get 2.
3. Make at least one more sale,
4. Be featured 2 times - so far we got one treasury feature.
5. Improve our product photography.

I 'started' my shop (focused for now on earrings/jewelry and greeting cards) several years ago but have only ever posted one item. I've just started drafting a few listings planning to *actually* expand this time, so I'm hoping to actually post enough to look like a real shop during August!

Finding a friend with pierced ears to model my earrings in-use would be ideal too, to add to my close-up shots on a table and dangling on my (handmade!) wooden chopstick earring hangers :)

1) stock up on my 3 best selling listings.
2) retake listing photos I'm not happy with.
3) update blog and Facebook site.
4) continue to work on my personal holiday preparations and shopping.

I am new to etsy. Only been up for 3 months.
For the fourth month, here are the to do lists
1. Upload 10 more products
2. Improve 10 listings keywords seo
3. Redesign 2 versions of banner. One for regular. One for holiday.
4. Stock up shipping supplies
5. Create express shipping option
6. Create gift box option
7. Figure out how to create coupon code
8. Pinterest and instrgram daily posting
9. Create 5 new mockup designs for fall collection
10. Finalize market material design
This will keep me pretty busy for the entire month. :)
