RE: Getting feedback

Out of 10 sales I finally got some feedback, yay! To thank the buyer I sent her a coupon code, should I mention to sellers that if they leave me feedback I will send them a coupon code? I didn't know if bribery was a good way to get feedback haha.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!

Re: RE: Getting feedback

I wouldn't say it's bribery it's just a little nudge of encouragement

Re: RE: Getting feedback

I wouldn't. The feedback will come. Of course it's good to have feedback...it shows potential customers that your merchandise is wonderful and you are a reliable, great seller. But after those first few feedbacks roll in, I just don't think they are that big a deal. Upon a sale, my automated etsy response requests feedback; beyond that, I don't worry about it.

Re: RE: Getting feedback

I agree with Marti, it wouldn't be bribery - unsatisfied customer would not really interested in a coupon code, but it would be encouraging the satisfied customers.

Here are two facts about buyers:

1. They forget! So just convo or e-mail a little reminder to your customers by mentioning how vital the feedback is for your business on Etsy, they will probably leave one ASAP.

2. For some weird reason, discounts make people happy! You can require your "bargaining" customers to leave a feedback within 30 days after they receive their item(s), otherwise you will charge the amount at the end of 30 days - as a part of the deal.

Also, don't forget to provide them a list of places they need to click to get to the feedback section ("Purchases & Reviews" under "Your Account" section at the top right of the page). IT'S REAL COMPLICATION AFTER THE LAST UPDATE!!!

These should work effectively, and if they're not still leaving any I would not really push any further (I guess the reason is obvious).

Re: RE: Getting feedback

Be careful what you wish for, I have had feedback for someone else's stuff on more than one occasion - the comments could not have applied to my items!

Is that even legal?

Re: RE: Getting feedback

Why not? You're not forcing the customers to leave positive feedback, but just to leave feedback on the transaction. A deal is a deal :)
