Prices high? low? or just right? help!

I have been working on my shop on tags, titles, and photos for the past year. I know I am in a saturated market but I could get some opinions on my prices. When I was first open I had a lot of people say I was too low, then I tried doing the Etsy pricing formula. Know I just want to know what's holding people back from buying is it the price or something else? o~O

I don't think that pricing is a problem, although your prices seem a bit low to me. Your photos are lovely and the keywords in your listing titles and tags seem to be pretty good.

A beer company did a study. They offered 2 beers, one at a low price and one at a medium price. No one bought the low price one, everyone opted for the medium priced one.

They offered 3 beers, one at a low price, one medium and one at a premium.Still no one wanted the low priced one, most wanted the medium priced one, a few opted for the premium priced one.

You want to be in the middle with pricing. People relate price with quality.

Your listings have not had many views on Etsy by Internet standards. I don't think your listings are getting seen high up in Etsy Relevancy search results -- where all the shoppers are. Etsy gives preference to popular shops and popular listings with high current repeat sales. Once you start making more sales, your listings will be seen higher and higher in etsy Relevancy search results. Your listings will get more views and you will make more sales. Promotion and marketing would help greatly right now.

Have you tried this new Etsy App where you can check where your listings are in Etsy searches? http://www.tools4etsy.com/Wall-e/Relevancy/Keyword - this is a quick way to check the rankings of your listings in Etsy search results.

For the listings I looked at in your shop, I noticed that the listing descriptions are virtually the same. Your listings are getting caught in Google's Duplicate Content Filter. To get more views from Google, each description should be as unique as possible and contain the keywords from the listing title, sprinkled through the entire description.

Thank you Mary!! This was extremely helpful! The WALL-E tool is something I haven't tried and I just tried it with 5 of what I thought were good tag/title words and came up not even showing up! How deflated I feel after changing and rechanging my my titles/tags these last few months! At least now I know where I stand. I can work with that! :)

Hi Tracey,

I agree--your prices are not too high--very reasonable. I think Mary has given you some great advice on the tagging (I struggle with that too). Personally, I don't find the stark white backgrounds in your photos very effective. I know white backgrounds are popular but I don't think they're doing that much for your pieces. You could experiment a little with some alternatives--faded wood, driftwood, neutral colored ceramic tiles. Also try taking some photos from different angles--not just straight on. Drape a bracelet over a stone or bowl. Take some pictures of your bracelets on someone's wrist. I think you could create more visual interest and that would help your pieces stand out a little more.
