Prepping for a Big Shop Feature

Hi All!

I have a big (for me!) feature on my shop coming out this weekend via a blog with over 7,000 followers. This is the first time so many people will be exposed to my shop!

I was wondering if there was anything in particular anyone would recommend to prep my shop for this--from pictures to descriptions to policies, any suggestions would be appreciated! What have you done to prep for a feature in the past?

Congrats that's amazing! Get ready for lots of sales!! I would go through your shop with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything is worded perfectly for instant sales!

i don't have any tips from experience to give to you, other than to maybe prepare for the possibility of having roomier shop. have some drafts/products lined up in that event!

Check that your processing time will allow you to get multiple orders daily and still keep up.

Check item quantities, you'll want multiple if possible.

Put the pic they are going to use on the blog as your featured so it is instantly recognizable upon entering your shop.

Stay on top of things. Answer convos quickly and always start orders right away.

Congrats! How exciting! I would work on putting up different photos on your about page. I feel like your first photos on each listing look nicer, and you definitely want them to match in quality!

If you don't have an about you page, consider adding it or updating. Depending on how the feature is ( a name drop with photo and link?, and interview) people may be interested in learning more about you or your process!

Definitely star your featured item so it's at the top of your shop. Make sure everything is well organized, and nicely arranged. Multiple quantities is a good idea.

You might want to calculate processing time for levels or orders, so you can post a huge caps announcement about processing times if you are going to make them as the orders come in. That way if you hit X orders, you can alert buyers to it maybe taking a bit longer to get to them...

Be sure to feature the items that you can make quickly so that those will sell first. You still want to sell the more time intensive items just not as many. :)

I had a feature on the Frisky a couple of years ago, at the time I think they had 15,000 followers. I had no idea I was getting featured until I made a sale and they buyer left a note about loving the earrings she saw on the Frisky. I did a google search and found it.

I think I sold about 25 pieces from that feature. Enjoy your achievements! Don't stress out. Congrats to you!
